Olivia is the #1 prospect at her position and #6 in the entire class. She is absolutely phenomenal on both sides of the ball. Rodrigues is already dominate, but always improving on her game. Even when not scoring, she finds ways to have command over the game. Olivia’s impact on the floor simply can’t be replicated. The senior Tabor guard isn’t going too far; she’s headed to a loaded Providence squad where she’ll find success.

Rodrigues is one of the premier wing talents in all of New England. There just simply aren’t too many prospects that can bring what she has to the table. The 6’1 wing is a 3-level scorer that plays stifling defense from the perimeter and can hold her own if asked to ever switch on a forward or center. The versatile wing brings a level of intensity that just can’t be replicated. Regardless of the level of talent on the floor, Olivia consistently rises to the top of the list and shows why she’s one of the best on the court. It’s rare to see such a scoring threat be just as much of a factor on the other side of the ball, especially from the guard position. Coach Batth has added another star quality player to the list of recruits at Providence. Excited to watch Rodrigues makes some noise on the high school scene this year.

Player Comparison: Veronica Burton

This comparison isn’t 100% one-to-one due to their style of play necessarily, but rather because of the overall idea. Rodrigues’s game can be compared at the next level to a player like Veronica Burton. Olivia’s ability to play at a high level on both sides of the ball are similar to Burton’s. Both tall and strong guards who make lasting impacts on both sides of the ball. The comparison can be seen as a bit high flown which is attributable to Rodrigues’ current ability to flat out score the basketball, measured against a player like Burton who was Defensive Player Of The Year in college. However, the overall the picture and projection of Olivia at a top-level college will have similar expectations. Offensively Olvia has the 3-level scoring capabilities like Burton, but what truly makes this a great forecast is Rodrigues’ ability to defend and her overwhelming defensive capabilities. Olivia can change an entire outlook of a game on defense when locked in. Rarely are there taller guards above 6’1 with the footspeed and the will to defend 90 feet away from the basket or making smaller dribbling guards turn their body. Olivia has long arms and fast hands that can get her steals in the open court, but also completely shut down opposing team’s offensive threats when driving to the lane. It’s this very reason why the comparison is related. Rodrigues is interchange on defense because of her height, can facilitate in the pick & roll, shoot beyond the 3-point line, overpower smaller guards to the basket and stop the opposing team’s best player which resonates with a player like Burton.

Olivia is one of the best all-around prospects in New England. Her talent and ceiling can far exceed what anybody can foresee. Rodrigues has potential that is through the roof. It’s hard to truly compare a talent like Rodrigues at this moment because of her advanced 3-level scoring talents and offensive skillset, but this would be a great glance at what she could be like as a professional.

An efficient and steady bucket with a dominant presence on the floor. Olivia is a top-tier offensive threat and a 3-level scorer. A real bucket-getter that seems to get the job done by any means. She sports a decisive cutting-edge floater, along with a killer midrange shot and knocks down the 3 with ease. Olvia was a constant factor all weekend long despite suffering a few losses that Bay State encountered. She seemed to spark the team in times where there were droughts and gave the needed energy to stay in tight games. In a matchup vs New Heights, it was impressive to see the multifaceted game of Rodrigues. The New Heights guards had the ability to play a stifling press early in the game to disrupt the offense, however, Olvia was able to facilitate and become an extension of the coach in an imperative time. She was able to show her facilitation skills while still able to help direct teammates as a big guard in crucial moments. She was also showing her ability to attack downhill on smaller and feisty guards who wanted to get underneath her for the steal. On the defensive end, Rodrigues was shutting off her matchups’ quality looks and she was able to use to her length to close off the space between them. Olivia plays both sides of the ball too; energetic and spirited blocks are a major portion of her defensive capabilities. As a bigger guard she tends to be a bit more aggressive on the opposing guards who are typically more on the elusive side. As a strong and physically imposing presence on defense Olvia seemed to deter her opponents from getting good looks at the basket. Olivia is a complete jewel on the floor and there was never an occasion where she seemed to back down from the moment. She had the look of someone who was willing to step up to the challenge and she imposed her will onto the game.
