While there were plenty of teams from the Palmetto State that converged on Spartanburg, there were also a number of teams from other states – including North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and even Kentucky.
There was a litany of talent in the Palmetto State’s Upstate this past weekend – including among the 16U teams. We recently unveiled our All-16U First Team and, without further adieu, here is our Second Team.
Chambers was a noteworthy standout for a Charleston Raptors 2025 Red team that finished with a 3-1 mark for the weekend. She was also a player of note on Friday when her team completed an overtime comeback against Upward Stars Upstate 2025. Chambers finished with 14 points in that matchup. Along with basketball, Chambers has also participated in track and field events throughout her athletic career. Chambers is sporting the Charleston Raptors 2025 Red uniform this AAU season following running last year on the grassroots circuit with Dynamic Sports Team.
Highlights
Selah George
Selah George
George is one of two from 5A Wando on this year’s Shots United 2025 roster. She brings experience with the junior varsity Warriors to this year’s Shots United 2025 rendition and continued stellar play (plus Wando losing six seniors from its 2022-23 team) should set her up nicely for a varsity spot in 2023-24. George can create additional possessions for her team with the steals she collects. If she grabs a rebound on the offensive glass, George is likely to turn that into a putback. She can shine every bit on the defensive end of the floor as she does offense and can display her accuracy from behind the arc.
Abigail Bennah
Abigail Bennah
She began the AAU campaign of 2023 riding a wave of momentum following her Catamounts prevailing as 4A state champions following a 29-4 record. Bennah can grab her fair share of rebounds and also has a 3-point shot as part of her overall offensive repertoire. Along with the ability to draw contact and get to the free throw line, Bennah also displays her value to a team by doing the little things that may not show up on a stat sheet. This includes delivering on hustle plays. Carolina All-Stars 2025 finished 3-1 for the weekend and her 12-point showing against Charleston Raptors/TMP 2025 Black in a 47-42 win greatly aided her team’s cause.
Alley Wright
Alley Wright
Wright is a perfect example of “not how one starts, but how one finishes.” Her Carolina All-Stars 2025 team needed all of the nine points she mustered against Charleston Raptors/TMP 2025 Black on Friday night given Wright’s team won by five. She is listed at 5-foot-8 and can make her presence felt with blocking shots. She also displays a high level of toughness. In the matchup on Friday night, Wright did the bulk of her scoring damage in the second half as she finished with nine points en route to that victory. It would be the first of three for Carolina All-Stars 2025 over Triumph Region Kickoff weekend.
Wallace continues to display throughout her AAU career exactly why she is playing up in class. She recently completed a stellar season with 5A Dorman and is now translating that to the club scene. Wallace is difficult to contain, particularly when she has the ball in her hands as she can handle the leather with her left hand and finish strong at the rim with her right hand. She tallied 11 points – all in the first half – of what was a hard-fought contest on Friday night against a tough Charleston Raptors 2025 Red team. Wallace played in 27 games this past season as a freshman with the Cavaliers.
