Last Thursday, we released the Spring rankings update for the Class of 2024. We have also changed formats to make rankings more exclusive, therefore at this time we are ranking just 100 total players in the Class of 2024, with the rest being placed on a watchlist of 100 players. At some point in the near future, those 100 ranked spots will expand to 150. That will likely be around September 1st. In the meantime, I wanted to take this time to circle back and address all of the listed prospects, position by position. Below is a look at 34 shooting guard prospects who make up 17.0% of the rankings this time around, with analysis on a handful to “keep an eye on” detailed at the bottom.

KEEP AN EYE ON:
Allie has long been known for her offensive skillset, but over the last 8-12 months she looks stronger, a little more aggressive, and she’s committing a lot of attention at the defensive end of the floor. She could still stand to play a little lower and continue working on her lateral quickness, but with her length and added physicality, she could turn into a really nice defender for the Lady Eagles during her Senior season. And don’t worry, she still shoots it well from the perimeter.
Emma is another long, fluidly athletic wing guard who plays with quite a bit of versatility. She had a strong Winter for the Lady Spartans, as she can serve as an attacking style of wing or knock down open perimeter jumpers consistently when in rhythm. I also like her quickness and ability to defend 2s and 3s, even some bigger point guards at times. She has gotten stronger, but that, coupled with a little more physicality could definitely help her prepare for the next level.
Carrie is an absolute gym rat and loves being on the court. She plays with a great deal of passion, competes every possession, and battles at both ends of the floor. She has developed really nice strength, a quiet toughness, and she doesn’t let anything faze her. She is an excellent perimeter shooter with some range, but she can also handle it a little and work off the bounce. She’s mostly a North/South athlete, but she does absorb contact fairly well. She’ll make a small college very happy.
Aaliyah had somewhat of a breakout year in 2022-2023. She has been a Varsity contributor in the past, but this season she looked much more confident and aggressive, and she led Highland in scoring several times. She has nice length, wiry strength, and she’s a fast, slicing athlete who can get to the basket. She has a solid mid-range game, but it would benefit her a little if she extended that to the 3-point line consistently. Otherwise, she’s someone who I think should have a nice Spring.
Norah is a really nice basketball player, and she’s difficult to describe by position, because she contributes in a number of ways. Athletically, she has always been a little stronger than her peers, but she has nice length, plus she’s more so fluid than explosive. She uses her body well offensively to protect the ball, attack the basket, and she’s a willing rebounder. Additionally, she can initiate offense at times, plus she has good vision. Defensively, she isn’t afraid to get inside and mix it up.
