Updated Class of 2024 New Mexico Rankings: 6-10

Our staff has plenty of analysis on the way to complement the release!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Quickly, though, below is a simple look at the names of players from the 2024 Class that were ranked 6-10 and why:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#6</strong> Class of 2024 | <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357652' first='Azalia' last='Malizia']</strong> | PG | Valencia: Averaged 11.6 points per game as Valencia's second leading scorer. She was selected as an All-State Honorable Mention and First Team All-Metro selection this past season while helping Valencia reach the 4A State Quarterfinals. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357652' first='Azalia' last='Malizia']</strong> was a knockdown three-point threat that made 55 triples on the season which was the 8th most in the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#7</strong> Class of 2024 | <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='370403' first='Kindyll' last='Sandoval']</strong> | SG | V. Sue Cleveland: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='370403' first='Kindyll' last='Sandoval']</strong> was selected to Third Team All-Metro this past year. She is a nice sharpshooter for the Cleveland Storm. She can play on or off the ball really well and knows how to look for her shots. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#8</strong> Class of 2024 | <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357695' first='Zarai' last='Lewis']</strong> | SG | Clovis: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357695' first='Zarai' last='Lewis']</strong> was the Clovis Wildcats best player this past season. She was the team's leading scorer averaging just under 15 points per game. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357695' first='Zarai' last='Lewis']</strong> led Clovis to a 20-9 record on the year and to a 5A State Girls Playoff Berth. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357695' first='Zarai' last='Lewis']</strong> was a solid rebounder that grabbed over 6 per game. She knew how to draw and initiate contact by getting to the free throw line. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357695' first='Zarai' last='Lewis']</strong> converted on 122 free throws made this year which ranked 7th in New Mexico and shot a respectable 74% from the charity stripe. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#9</strong> Class of 2024 | <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='560952' first='Brooke' last='Badonie']</strong> | CG | Tohatchi: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='560952' first='Brooke' last='Badonie']</strong> led Tohatchi High School to win the 3A Girls Basketball State Title. On the year she averaged 13.5 points per game which led her team in scoring and was selected to First Team All-State in the 3A Class. She also played some her best basketball of the year come playoff time. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#10</strong> Class of 2024 | <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='391240' first='Analise' last='Macauley']</strong> | PF | Penasco: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='391240' first='Analise' last='Macauley']</strong> was the best player for Penasco High School this past season. She was a near double-double threat every time on the floor with her scoring and rebounding. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='391240' first='Analise' last='Macauley']</strong> averaged 12.6 points per game, 9.1 rebounds per game and recorded 11 double-doubles which was the 8th most in New Mexico this year. She was selected as an Honorable Mention in All-State for the 2A Class. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
