Updated Class of 2024 New Mexico Rankings: Guards

Our staff has plenty of analysis on the way to complement the release!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Quickly, though, below is a simple look at the highest ranked guards of the 2024 Class and why:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357673' first='Eva' last='Love']</strong> | SG | La Cueva: The La Cueva star shooting guard has already received at least 7-8 offers from various schools to play at the next level. She is an aggressive scoring guard that can put the ball through the hoop from all areas on the floor. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357673' first='Eva' last='Love']</strong> is good in the open floor on the fast break. She does a really good job at going full speed than stopping for a mid-range pull up jumper. [player_tooltip player_id='357673' first='Eva' last='Love'] can score in the mid-range area and outside the arc to space the floor for the La Cueva Bears. Her play helped the Bears reach another 5A State Semifinals appearance. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='385929' first='Alyssa' last='Maes']</strong> | SG | St. Pius X: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='385929' first='Alyssa' last='Maes']</strong> had an excellent junior season for the St. Pius X Sartans. She averaged around 17-18 points per game while playing winning basketball with St. Pius. She is a scoring first guard that has a nice handle on the basketball. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='385929' first='Alyssa' last='Maes']</strong> is one of the more All-Around Shooting Guards in the state of New Mexico with her rebounding and passing. She knew how to impact the game in more than one area every time on the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357652' first='Azalia' last='Malizia']</strong> | PG | Valencia: A scoring first point guard that is capable of putting up some big numbers on the offensive end. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357652' first='Azalia' last='Malizia']</strong> can light up the scoreboard with her three-point shooting as well as set up her teammates. She is a fun and exciting young point guard to watch for the Valencia Jaguars. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='370403' first='Kindyll' last='Sandoval']</strong> | SG | Cleveland: Another high-quality guard. She is a sharpshooter that moves well without the basketball. She does a good job coming off screens, and "catch and shoot" opportunities. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='370403' first='Kindyll' last='Sandoval']</strong> is consistent and reliable scorer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
