Dockemeyer and her team didn’t come out on top in their first match-up of the day on Saturday but that didn’t stop Lilly from showing off what she could do on the floor, including being an offensive weapon at all three scoring levels on the court. At one point in the second half with about 5 minutes left she hit 3-three pointers in a row, in consecutive possessions down the floor. Something that was quite impressive. She has good size, speed, and basketball IQ with a nice shooting ability from almost anywhere on the court. She does a good job of listening to her coach and getting to the spots she is most comfortable in. Her team is filled with size and athleticism along with some nice play-makers. They are going to have a nice spring/summer season leading into their high-school year this upcoming fall.
Olivia Zielinski Olivia Zielinski 5’11” | SG Rolling Meadows | 2024 State IL stands out when she takes the court because of her size but she is so much more than that. Zielinski, an athletic forward, moves extremely well on the court and is a solid talent with a lot of promise. She has a high ceiling with a lot of room to grow on the offensive side of the floor. Her elite ability that she possesses currently is on the defensive side of things. She is the type of player who can guard a post or move and guard the point guard on a switch, something she did several times early Saturday afternoon leading to a good amount of blocks and rebounds for herself. I expect a lot of college interest to hit Zielinski this spring. She is going to be a solid piece to a successful college program in the near future.

The Kentucky Ice 2024 team traveled a good ways to come and show what they can do in the state of Illinois and in day 1 they did not disappoint. One of the most impressive players of their team this afternoon was Gracie Sipes Gracie Sipes 5’7″ | CG North Oldham | 2024 State KY . Sipes is a quick point guard with really nice vision. She moves well off the ball as well as attacks with a nice pace and patients. There were several moments in the game where she threw passes to her teammates that were meant to lead them to a specific area on the floor leading to an easy look, sometimes it was successful while other times not so much but the vision and passing ability is noticeable. She has a nice shot with fantastic arc no matter her distance from the hoop. It really stands out when you see it live-in-action. Sipes is going to be one to watch this spring/summer. I’ll definitely be following along with this group to see how they come together and play the rest of the spring/summer.
Elizabeth Boyd Elizabeth Boyd 6’0″ | C North Oldham | 2023 State KY showed several extensive skill moves in her teams contest against a stacked Midwest Elite Nike 2024 team Saturday afternoon. Boyd, a 6’0 center, can do a lot of good things when she is on the floor. Most importantly she always seems comfortable when things get hectic, making solid decisions for her team a majority of the time. There were a handful of times during the game where she caught mid-post and either put it on the floor into a finish over a bigger defender or made a nice move and pass to an open teammate for a better look. Her passing ability is solid and on defense she knows what she is doing. A player with a nice ceiling, who moving forward could really show how dominate she is near the basket when she is determined.
Both Midwest Elite 2024 teams have athletic and skilled rosters with a lot of size. One of those players with all those things in common is Lorena Awou Lorena Awou 6’5″ | PF United Township | 2024 State IL . Awou, is a 6’4 center with a lot of length. She is a big body with good footwork and a dominate personality. She does a fantastic job of not putting the ball on the floor but catching and going straight up with it because in most situation she is the tallest player on the court. She knows how to use the glass and seems to be getting more comfortable with the ball in her hands each possession down the court. On defense she blocks a lot of shots and does a good job staying down. I’m not sure who has interest in her but after this weekend I’m sure it’ll be a decent amount of programs as she is the type of player who can change the flow of a game with her size alone, not to mention the other intangibles she brings to the floor.
