A full 180 from the last time i saw Ezike. She was really good then… but she is DIFFERENT now. Her agility, athleticism, scoring and defensive abilities are one thing.. but it’s the composure she plays with that makes her so fun to watch. In Sunday’s star studded game against the Fire, Nora was clearly one of the best players on the court.. she would get trapped & fouled consistently .. but her attitude never changed. Players like that will go far. This game is mental and the way she stays even killed through everything.. is amazing. So excited to follow her career.
Highlights
Brushuck had tons of people asking “Who’s #3?” all weekend, and when you watch her play you understand why. She’s built like the new player of this generation. Long, athletic, creative and can score and defend at all levels. She can knockdown the long ball, get to the rim, and her hustle on both sides of the court doesn’t go unnoticed. She has tons of energy, craftiness .. and even with alll the talent she has, she still plays the game unselfish. Her potential is high.
Trinity is a unicorn. She’s a mix of everything you need in a player. She legitimately can do everything on the court, and she does everything good if not great. Defensively, she can guard 1-5.. she WILL score on three levels, and her motor and instincts on the boards is ridiculous. She runs the floor well in transition, and has the versatility and agility to score around, through or over the defense. There’s just no question that this kid is on another level.
Stack was one of my favorite players to watch this weekend. She has so much aggression to her game and the fact that she’s a true stretch four makes it even better. She can score from every where on the court but when KStack is in the post it’s a hard guard, and she has the length and confidence to let it rip from way beyond the arc. I love seeing a new side of players outside of their HS situation, some players feel more free in this environment, and they tend to show more of themselves. Stack is a problem, and she put that on notice this weekend.
Some players will shoot.. some players can shoot.. and some players ARE shooters. Put Lewis in that last category. Alyssa has some strength to her that allows her to get those deep shots up and to the net, and that’s what she did all weekend. In countless games she was knocking down then long ball, getting pass defenders with her quickness and craftiness. She is a legitimate threat once she passes half-court. She never feels like her team is completely out of the game.. a ton of confidence, but she backs it up.
