The Victory Region Kick off in Illinois was amazing. Two days of top tier talent, from all over the Midwest. Ton’s of players that the scouts have been following for some time, but also many new faces that we cant wait to follow over their career. Below is a selection of talented guard’s that showed up as GameChangers this past weekend!
A paceful guard that can score at three levels. Engels plays a plug and fit game, she can blend in with any system and still be impactful. She doesn’t rush things, and seems to make good decisions with the ball a majority of the time. Sharp vision and high IQ, Engles has all the intangibles that can fit with any play style or player.. which is hard to come by these days. This kid just seems to get better and better every game.
Langston is one hell of an athlete and she knows how to use her speed, agility and strength to get where she has to go. Sunday, she hit a big 3 that eventually was the icing on the cake for the MWE win. Kelsey can score at three levels, and she has the motor to defend multiple positions as well. A kid with a lot of toughness and energy.
Highlights
So smooth, so patient, never seems to get rattled. Abdul is your classic pass first guard but with tons of creativity and composure. She can weave through multiple defenders, and has the vision to set up a player before the defense has time to adjust. Her scoring ability is three levels as well… she plays the game with a good balance of both.
A sharpshooting aggressive guard that plays so well without the ball. Patrijcia can score the ball all levels, defend your best player and still be the main bucket getter. She has tons of energy, athleticism and a underlying strength to her that allows her to get where she needs to go. She has a solid build to her as well that helps with defending multiple positions and attacking a crowded paint.
Highlights
Another one of those smooth talented point guards that is just filled with creativity. Grace wants to facilitate, she wants to orchestrate and run the show.. and she does it SO well. She sees things before they happen, she reads the defense well.. but she can also can get hot from a scoring angle and be the teams main scorer. She plays the game with tempo and pace.. and that’s on both sides. She’s not an aggressive defender, she’s a calculated defender.
Lexi can score the ball with some of the best guards in the state… but on this Mac Irvin team, Sepulveda has taken on a new role as defender. Her instincts and speed are unquestionable.. and the way she locks in on that side of the ball is special. She takes risks by jumping the lanes, going for steals.. but her head is always on a swivel and she knows how to play catch up.
