The kid plays with so much poise and patience, that you want go against it.. and i have.. but i have been WRONG. Engels has shown that she is legitamely one of top guards in her class and it was on display this past weekend. 17 points and 12 boards on the night for the semi final game. In her final high school game she captured a 4A state title, and put up similar scoring numbers with 17. However, it was her ability to play with 4 fouls in a crucial game. Hell of a season for the Cornell commit.

A paceful guard that can score at three levels. Engels plays a plug and fit game, she can blend in with any system and still be impactful. She doesn’t rush things, and seems to make good decisions with the ball a majority of the time. Sharp vision and high IQ, Engles has all the intangibles that can fit with any play style or player.. which is hard to come by these days. This kid just seems to get better and better every game.

A do-it-all Point Guard who runs the show at both ends of the court, Engels is everything a coach wants in a lead Guard. She is a reliable ball-handler who always plays at a controlled pace and sets the tone with her effort and decision making. Paige can score at every level just as efficiently as she can set her teammates up for easy buckets, and she stays locked in on the defensive end with tough defense against opposing ball-handlers and creating turnovers.

A steady paced player who gets to where she needs to at her own speed. Engels can be one of your best playmakers or your top scorer.. it just depends on what the team needs. She can adjust her game to the situation. Three levels of scoring, high IQ and a wide range of awareness of what’s going on. Her role at Loyola will be more prominent this year, looking forward to those games.
