Jules LaMendola Jules LaMendola 5'10" | SF Coppell | 2023 State TX -6’1 G (Coppell) Indiana
LaMendola closed out her high school career by helping lead her team to the championship game and although they were runner-up, the magic she showed on that route didn’t surprise me one bit as she was tagged #D1Lock before high school. Mid to long-range, scores around the basket, sees the floor as well as rebounding, she has all the tools
Milaysia Fulwiley Milaysia Fulwiley 5'8" | PG Keenan | 2023 State #9 Nation SC -5’9 PG (Keenan) SC- South Carolina (MDAA)
Fulwiley was named MVP and was one of those MDAA players that participated in the event. She’s a “long and athletic” guard that scores however she wants but her blowing by defenders off the dribble and finishing acrobatically was nice. Her body control is something else, contact was irrelevant yet she also showed the jumper, in the set and transition plus her court vision, including some no looks were special
Miyah Verse Miyah Verse 6'0" | SF Mountain Ridge | 2023 State AZ -6’1 F (Mountain Ridge) AZ-Georgia
Verse mixed it up a number of ways to score as she used her body inside the paint for baskets yet she also did a good job scoring off the dribble. She also has nice body control and finished after the lick but her pull-up jumper was nice from midrange and she not only played the passing lane but handled the ball in the open court afterward
Grace Grocholski Grace Grocholski 5'10" | SF Kettle Moraine | 2023 State WI -5’10 G (Kettle Moraine) WI-Minnesota
Grocholski hit the boards hard on both ends of the court and showed she could handle the ball after rebounding and go coast to coast as well as see the floor in transition. She scored off the dribble in the set using a deceptive first step, she also dropped the mid to long-range jumper but her defense, on the ball, was solid and her quick hands got her some steals
Samyha Suffren Samyha Suffren 5'8" | PG Cannon | 2023 State NC -5’8 G (Cannon School) NC- Virginia Tech
Suffren is “long and athletic” and I forgot to mention that is the base but her scoring off the dribble and at times, defying gravity on her finishes had me smiling. She handled the ball after rebounding, hits the boards on both ends, and showed she could drop the jumper in transition as well as the set, mid to long range
Mallory Collier Mallory Collier 6'5" | C Bartlett | 2023 State TN -6’5 P (Bartlett) TN- NC State
Collier caught my eye at the Sandra Meadows Classic a few years ago and the link from one of those sightings sums it up, well sort of. Her “hands and footwork” and understanding of how to use her body around the basket will translate over to the next level quickly. She rebounds on both ends and also runs the floor, on both ends plus her defense inside the paint is strong
Laci Steele Laci Steele 5'10" | SF Edmond North | 2023 State OK -5’11 G (Edmond North) OK -NC State
Steele just had IT at an early age and this is one of my articles that included her a few years ago. She understands how to create her shot multiple ways and her scoring off the dribble, with either hand or drop the mid to long-range jumper has always been nice yet she can do it under pressure. She wants the ball “in the clutch” and she delivers, she also defends and plays the passing lane
Maddie Cox Maddie Cox 6'2" | SF Flower Mound | 2023 State #18 Nation TX -6’2 F (Flower Mound) NC State
Cox caught my eye years ago and wait, here ya go. I’m not a novice at this and over 10 years ago I knew what was coming. Her being able to do things instinctively as well as how she reacted while playing against older players spoke volumes. The mid to long-range, her scoring off the dribble, her timing to block shots, defense both in and outside the paint, all told the story
Tyonna Bailey Tyonna Bailey 5'10" | CG Montclair Immaculate | 2023 State NJ -5’10 G (Immaculate Con) NJ – St John’s
Bailey brought “on the ball” heat off the top and showed quick hands and feet while defending to get steals or force turnovers. She used athleticism on both ends as she scored off the dribble and finished after contact and she dropped the jumper in the set along with the “stop and pop” in transition. Her court vision was also nice
