I think this will really help give everyone a better idea of who to watch out for this summer, leading into the season this winter. Enjoy!
#1. Britt Prince Britt Prince 5'11" | PG Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE – Elkhorn North High School
If you know anything about Nebraska women’s high school basketball over these past few years you know about Britt Prince Britt Prince 5’11” | PG Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE . The states leading scorer returning throughout all age levels has been everything she was hyped up to be and more. Her elite scoring ability helps her create for others at a crazy rate. She is such a worry to defenses that it usually leads a teammate being wide open on her team, once she sees this she makes the simple pass and the assists start to stack up. Britt is the real deal, it makes sense as a point guard that she is number 1 on this list.
#2. Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE – Omaha Central High School
Another very well-off and well known player out of this state is Inia Jones Inia Jones 5’7″ | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE . Jones is a fast point guard with a high motor and a lot of heart. She plays aggressive on both sides of the floor and isn’t afraid of contact once she gets near the basket. She more-so welcomes it. Her elite scoring ability again is a huge reason why Jones gets a good amount of assists. She is a great facilitator because she understands tempo, pace of play, and that off of the dribble she can blow by anybody causing a help defender to step up. This gives Jones a nice lane to make a crafty pass for an assist. I’m curious were Jones will play college ball at but whoever gets her, is getting a warrior, that’s for sure.
#3. Madison Abbenhaus Madison Abbenhaus 5'5" | PG Bloomfield | 2024 State NE – Bloomfield High School

Madison Abbenhaus Madison Abbenhaus 5'5" | PG Bloomfield | 2024 State NE
Madison Abbenhaus Madison Abbenhaus 5’5″ | PG Bloomfield | 2024 State NE is more of an evenly-rounded point guard in this category than the players listed above her. She isn’t as big of a scoring threat compared to those two but instead just does a little bit of everything for her Bloomfield high school team. She is the head of their zone defense, their point guard calling out their plays, and their creator with the ball in her hands. She is solid off of the dribble leading to a good amount of layups or assists near the basket for herself. This summer I’m excited to see if she has had a chance to expand her game in the off-season and become a little more of a scoring threat on offense. Something more then do-able for a player like Madison.
#4. Madison Cheleen Madison Cheleen 5'8" | PG South Platte | 2024 State NE – South Platte High School
Madison Cheleen Madison Cheleen 5'8" | PG South Platte | 2024 State NE
Madison Cheleen Madison Cheleen 5'8" | PG South Platte | 2024 State NE
Madison Cheleen Madison Cheleen 5’8″ | PG South Platte | 2024 State NE is a three point shooting threat from deep on the catch-and-shoot. If her defender happens to overplay her she does a great job of getting into the teeth of the defense and distributing to open teammates for a good look. During her high school season last year Cheleen moved between the point guard and the shooting guard spot. It’s hard to put her in one or the other for myself right now because she does both the best for her high school team currently. Looking toward the future, her size would say point guard but I think her shooting ability could really take over this next season. Either way, she is a play-maker who is making noise for the 2024 class moving into the summer.
#5. Dani Harter – Bayard High School
Dani Harter
Dani Harter
Dani Harter rounds off our top 5 assists leaders returning this winter in the 2024 class. Harter, a 5’8 point guard, is another player that does a little bit of everything each game. Whenever she steps on the court you know she is going to have at least a few points, some steals, some assists, and some rebounds. She is consistent and efficient in her production on the floor for her teams and it shows big time. Last season she averaged 6.5 PPG, and 4.5 APG. Two stat lines that I like considering the “even-ness” of them together. Harter is going to shoot into summer firing on all cylinders, hoping to jump-start her senior season off with a bang. I’m excited to see what she will bring to the table.
