Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE is a baller, has been a baller, and will be a baller when she gets to Bradley next season. Jones is may be the most athletic pound-for-pound prospect out of this Class, not to mention her pure skill and natural ability. When I first had the chance to sit down and watch Jones a few years ago, I was impressed and ever since then, she has kept up her production at a high rate. Doesn’t matter if it’s on the high school Varsity floor or if it’s on the travel scene, she makes plays happen and she plays with A TON of energy every possession. I’m not too sure of what Bradley has coming back this Winter but if they need a Guard, who is almost un-guardable in the open court, Jones might be that commit to come in and make a difference.

You can’t mention Omaha Central High School girl’s basketball without mentioning their PG, Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE . Jones has been fantastic this season and that’s to no surprise. Jones is a Bradley commit and a very good leader with the ball in her hands. I haven’t seen any crazy stat lines from Jones during this Metro tournament but she is their unquestionable leader so any success they have, is due to part to her play, not to undermine anyone else. She is the type of player who can score from all three levels offensively or she can set up others around her in a plethora of ways and she can play some stingy on-ball defense. When you combine those things and add along an aggressive demeanor, you get a high level producer on the hardwood and that’s what Jones has been. In both this tournament and throughout her entire high school career. I’m excited to watch this game tonight between Central and Millard North. Two undefeated teams playing for a holiday championship? What’s better than that!

I could say a whole lot about Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE but what is most important is that she is having a great Senior season and afterwards, she will be on the way to help out Bradley University at the next level. Jones is impressive because of her mixture of skill, athleticism, and strength. She isn’t the tallest player on the floor by any means but she has an aggressive attitude going toward the basket, always looking for a bucket and she has a fantastic second-jump at the rim, if she does happen to miss her first shot on occasions. Jones has been one of the best and most fun guards to watch throughout the state for a long time. She has had some great seasons at the high school level but I’m sure she can’t wait to take her skill to the college court, where she is planning on showing everyone else what they missed out on. Something, I can’t personally wait to see.

Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE was impressive when I saw her compete this summer. She was dishing out assists at a high rate after creating off of the dribble, she was scoring in bunches from all three levels consistently, and she was rebounding 2/3X more then the opponent across from her. Jones has recently committed to D1-Bradly University after fielding a ton of offers these past few years. I think if Jones learn’s their system and uses her natural gifts to beat her defenders, there is no way that she doesn’t see the floor at some rate in the near future. It’s very tough to see a college floor now a days but I think Jones is dedicated enough to do whatever it takes to run the show there at Bradley but we will see.

Another very well-off and well known player out of this state is Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE . Jones is a fast point guard with a high motor and a lot of heart. She plays aggressive on both sides of the floor and isn’t afraid of contact once she gets near the basket. She more-so welcomes it. Her elite scoring ability again is a huge reason why Jones gets a good amount of assists. She is a great facilitator because she understands tempo, pace of play, and that off of the dribble she can blow by anybody causing a help defender to step up. This gives Jones a nice lane to make a crafty pass for an assist. I’m curious were Jones will play college ball at but whoever gets her, is getting a warrior, that’s for sure.

I already had a write-up published including Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE as a stand-out of the Legacy Classic based on how she performed during Day 1 but as it pertains to the entire weekend, she deserves even more credit. Jones put on for her team in every game they played this weekend, coming out on top in every contest. She made the most of the opportunities given to her and really competed at an elite level. She is the other player that I would consider for being the #1 PG of the weekend next to Krystyna Manzanarez of State 38 basketball. She has an elite handle with an incredible change of pace and direction. She can score at all three levels while also being a steady passer for the teammates around her. Most importantly, she has the gift of being able to will her team to a win. I saw it a few times this weekend first hand. When you see it on the floor, you just know, and you can see it with how Jones competes. She may not be the tallest player on the court at all times, but she definitely has the most heart.

Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE is everything advertised and more as a prospect. Jones is a player with a sneaky fast dribble and insane athleticism. She flys down the floor faster than most, while keeping control of her dribble every step of the way. When she attacks the hoop she does it with intention. What that means is that she would rather get hit and go to the foul-line with some contact, than have an easy look at the rim. I watched Jones today lead her team to success on the floor and she looked great doing it. I expect to see more of this tomorrow for their games, as they will attempt to keep their momentum up going into Day 2, proving that they are one of the best 17U teams in this tournament.

She moves well off the ball and grinds on defense. She has a really nice handle with a quick change of pace and direction for when her defender cuts her off. She can score on all three levels of the floor at an efficient rate while welcoming contact whenever possible. A huge part of her game is how intense she is on the defensive side of things. She is a tyrant playing on-ball defense while playing hard denial against her opponent once they give the ball up. Overall, Inia is a player who has a lot of skill and smarts when it comes to the game of basketball. I can’t wait to see the crafty moves she is going to pull out of her bag this weekend.
