I'll never forget Aliyah Prestridge getting hit hard in a game and falling down, I thought it was bad, so I walked over to check on her with a tear in my eye and she looked at me and said "Why are you crying, I'm the one the one that got hit" and that SOLD me back then, she was in the 4th grade. Here are some names you want to know

Aliyah Prestridge-5'8 CG (Pro Skills 14U JR EYBL)

Prestridge had a huge growth spurt, both on and off the court yet her "poise under pressure" is what attracted me years ago She's savvy and plays within herself yet she also understands how to get hers in the flow. Her "on the ball" defense was nice, she rebounded, handled the ball and saw the floor after in the open court but she also does a good job setting the defender up with a deceptive first set step to attack the basket

[player_tooltip player_id='882181' first='Mia' last='Chambers']-5'4 PG (Pro Skills 14U JR EYBL)

Chambers brought a variety of moves and watching her handle the ball in the open court effortlessly under pressure was very nice. She saw the floor in the set, as well as from the other side of the halfcourt line, and that in itself is ahead of her years. I drop the #sizedontamtter when players can play, she can play and her body control while attacking the basket was impressive, and so was her creating her shot and dropping it from outside

Jordan Lewis-5'6 PG (Pro Skills 14U JR EYBL)

Lewis is also "poised under pressure" and not only wants the ball in the clutch, but she also delivers. She handled the ball in the set, as well as in the open court, and dishes nicely in both "settings" but her first step is already creating problems for defenders as she can leave them cemented to attack the basket. Her pull-up jumper in the set was nice yet she also showed she could drop it from outside in transition and the "stop and pop" will be heard to handle

[player_tooltip player_id='882190' first='Kelenna' last='Ozumba']-6'2 C/F (Pro Skills 14U JR EYBL)

Ozumba is "long and athletic" and I call that the base and that's because I love evaluating that profile, more importantly, so do many college coaches, so what are her intangibles? Her "timing" to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots is ahead of her years. She rebounds on both ends, scores around the basket, putbacks included, yet her "hands and footwork" had me smiling because she is going to create so match-up problems. Not only does she run the floor, but she also dives for loose balls on it as well

Jordan Erickson-5'7 PG (Cy Fair Premier)

Erickson does a good job of not only creating her shot but understanding when to take the shot so that in itself will go a long way. She was another player that got hers "in the flow" and her attacking the basket, with either hand and finishing after contact, while playing up spoke volumes

[player_tooltip player_id='977502' first='Adarra' last='Vanderford']-5'10 PF (Cy Fair Premier)

Vanderford uses her body well around the basket and her understanding of positioning at a young age falls into the "small things that become huge" category I speak about over and over. She rebounded on both ends, scored around the basket, even faced the basket for buckets, and did a good job defending inside the paint

Kaiyah Benally (Fam First)

Benally gave me a lot in a short amount of time as I was covering multiple courts trying to get my steps in and when I found out what class she was in, I dropped the mic, well book. She's heady, poised, with a scary upside because the pressure is irrelevant as she went right at older players and attacked strongly while finishing just as strong, body control played a part. Her body control was solid, and so was her pull-up jumper and court vision yet she even did a good job defending "on the ball"
