The next stop for many of the region’s premier teams and players was Georgia – and the three-day Peach Games event that took place west of downtown Atlanta as part of this year’s Prep Girls Hoops Circuit.
We already unveiled our 16U First Team for this year’s tournament. Here is who stood out to earn berths on our Second Team among what was a stacked 16U landscape in Georgia.
Miami Solomon
Miami Solomon
Among teams in the 16U classification this past weekend, Wood Elite 2027 was one of four that went 3-0. But the Georgia-based team was one of two among those that were playing up in class. Solomon as a 2028 was doing so against talents who will soon enter their junior seasons. She added 10 points in one of those victories – against North Carolina-based Carolina All-Stars 2025. Solomon may be young but already had the skillset of a seasoned veteran. She does not shy away from contact that can get her to the free throw line. Her height comes in handy when looking to do work on the glass. Can someone say upside?
Katilyn Farrell
Katilyn Farrell
The 5-foot-9 sophomore out of Charlotte Catholic was a major reason why Team Griggs 2025 went on a second-half scoring binge where it outscored JSI Elite 2025 40-12 in the closing 16 minutes. Farrell herself finished with nine points. She displays her confidence with her willingness to call for the ball and has no problems attempting 3-point shots. Farrell made one of those triples as part of her performance on Friday evening. She is one of two from Charlotte Catholic that is part of this season’s Team Griggs 2025 roster. Farrell has experience playing in junior varsity, but has the skillset and talent more than deserving of varsity status.
Makayla Bell
Makayla Bell
With an 11-point outing on Friday evening against Georgia-based Queens of Basketball, she was one of the names that rang bells among many that were in attendance this past weekend. Along with playing basketball, Bell also partakes in flag football with the Blue Darters. Defensively, she is as much impressive as she is offensively. Bell is a threat to collect steals and create extra possessions for her team and she will also reject shots as a defender. She can also give a long range dimension to a team’s offense and will draw contact to get to the free throw line. She was part of a 7A Apopka team last season that finished with a 17-9 record.
London Smith
London Smith
TKO United 2026 was another team that welcomed the opportunity to play up in class. It was another of the teams that finished 4-0 for Peach Games weekend and three of those victories came by double digits. Smith had a 16-point showing in her team’s first victory of the weekend when TKO United 2026 matched up against Carolina All-Stars 2025. She has impressive court vision with the ability to see how a play will unfold possibly before an opposing defense can. She puts plenty of emphasis on taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers and can put points on the board from virtually anywhere on the court.
