First, we will break down some of the players from the Fairfax Stars 16U EYBL team. They will be at the Fairfax Stars summer spectacular June 3-4 and at the east coast road to July June 24-25.
Catherine missed a lot of time this past high school season for Potomac School, but she’s healthy now and playing great basketball. She is a big guard with elite scoring ability, and her combination of skill and size makes her a total matchup nightmare.

Alyna Rachmat-Jones
Alyna Rachmat-Jones
Class of 2027 guard Alyna Rachmat-Jones is a big name to watch. Being so young, her playing on such a talented team is an already good indication of her ability. Alyna is an excellent ball-handler who can shoot the ball at a high level. She has an excellent feel for the game and has nice touch around the rim.
Genesis Schneeburg didn’t play much on a stacked Sidwell Friends team, so AAU ball might be a good opportunity for people to watch her play. Genesis is strong and uses it well. She is a force down low and is not afraid of contact at all. She has a pretty solid jump shot and is a good athlete. Genesis doesn’t move or look like a rising sophomore, and she will be a more prominent name soon.

I’ve watched a lot of Demi Gilliam Demi Gilliam 6’1″ | SF Paul VI | 2026 State VA , and every time she impresses me. Her length, athleticism, and overall defensive instinct make her a tremendous defender. She has excellent touch and finds spots on the floor to get her offense. Her rebounding is fantastic, and her ability as a ball handler allows her to snatch rebounds down and take them coast to coast.
Emma Nuquay is a versatile and unique player. She can shoot the ball well and does it with elite range. She can play multiple positions, but with her ability as a passer, ball handler, and on-ball shooting ability, she is most likely best suited as a guard.

Lyla Coogen Lyla Coogen 6’3″ | SG St. Johns College | 2026 VA is dealing with an injury, so I’m not sure she’ll be available this month, but if she is out there, she is an intriguing player to watch. Lyla is 6’2″ with guard skills and a knockdown shooter. That length also gives her a lot of defensive potential. Hopefully, she can return to the court soon.
