Expert Analysis
EJ Arocho | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Spot-up shooting from 18 feet was very effective vs a defensive-minded elite SPIRE squad. She got her shot up over the defender; long arms, high release.

is a prototypical offensive wing/big. She is a knockdown shooter with the length of a lot of D1 bigs at Power 5 schools. Lyla’s length gives her great defensive versatility, being able to guard wings and a lot of post players. Lyla makes her move from St. John’s, and she will make an immediate impact.

is the type of wing who fits in tremendously with most programs/teams. She has terrific length and is an outstanding spot-up shooter. Her play style and size allow her to fit onto many teams, and you can never have too much spacing.

hasn’t put up huge scoring numbers in either game, but if you watch her play, you can quickly see her effectiveness as a floor spacer. You can play her as a 4 or 5, and she comes off the bench ready to fire. She has knocked down a handful of threes and has the skill set to be a nice addition at the next level.

is dealing with an injury, so I’m not sure she’ll be available this month, but if she is out there, she is an intriguing player to watch. Lyla is 6’2″ with guard skills and a knockdown shooter. That length also gives her a lot of defensive potential. Hopefully, she can return to the court soon.

. With St. John’s losing Delaney Thomas next year, Lyla will be asked to step into a more prominent role. Lyla has serious defensive potential because of her length, and it’s one of the more underrated parts of her game. She is a fantastic shooter and a talented big, and she will grow into her game this summer during AAU ball.

Lyla is another on the list of standout freshmen in the game. The 6’3″ swing player has a nice stroke from beyond the arc. She scored all of her 9 points in the second half that included a pair of 3’s in the fourth quarter. Lefties have a reputation for their shooting and Lyla doesn’t change that perception.

Under the radar prospect the last two years her game has shot up along with her height standing at 6’1 for a wing that plays a hybrid stretch four as well. Smoove lefty that can handle the ball and get her shot off as well as a very long wingspan good athletic ability and can shoot the three-point shot! Her game is still developing and believe it or not still little raw but has tremendous upside and ability!
