I love this opportunity for athletes to show college coaches their skills in such a unique way since most of the time these coaches are watching these players with their AAU teams rather than their high school team. GRC put on an awesome event called the Cardinal Classic and it drew in an excellent slate of college coaches across all levels. There were a ton of talented teams competing, including some of the top teams in the surrounding states. I placed a focus on catching as many Kentucky teams I could in the 2 day period. I actually did something a little different for this article, typing out the notes exactly how I wrote them as I was there, so my apologies for the lack of sentence structure at times. However, here are some of my standouts from Friday.
Henry Clay 51 Bath County 39
Allison Stone (Henry Clay)
Started off game with a crafty finish at the rim. Had some nice pull-up jumpers and really showed the ability to score in a variety of ways. Strong cuts. Vocal.

Continuously improving her game. Long and active on both ends of the court. Made some nice drives to the hoop. Rebounded well.

Strong. Can finish through contact. Disruptive defensively. Rebounded strong. Vocal. Made great passes. Versatile – able to play any position.
Ashtyn Barrett Ashtyn Barrett 5'6" | SG Bath County | 2024 State KY (Bath County)
Excellent guard skills. Can handle the ball well, sees the floor, makes great passes, knows when to attack the rim, can knock down shots, and the list goes on. Tough finisher.

Does all of the little things. Quick, slides feet so well defensively, can handle the ball, knock down shots, or distribute.
Owensboro Catholic 56 Boyd County 42
Aubrey Randolph (Owensboro Catholic)
Long. Excellent shot blocker. Outside shot is looking really good – in fact, heard she knocked down 3 triples to start off the game and as soon as I walked in, she nailed yet another. Handles are looking strong. Already gotten a lot stronger and still getting stronger as I type this. If she keeps improving at this pace, the sky’s the limit.
Jenna Krampe (Owensboro Catholic)
Plays so hard. Takes zero plays off. Rebounds exceptionally well, plays much bigger than size, and just works when she’s on the court. Hustle and heart make her standout big time.
Audrey Biggs Audrey Biggs 6'0" | SF Boyd County | 2024 State KY (Boyd County)
Just a high-level player. Smart plays. Strong. Gives opponents a lot of trouble because she’s stronger than most guards and can easily get around players in the post.
Jasmine Jordan Jasmine Jordan 6'2" | C Boyd County | 2024 State KY (Boyd County)
Very long. Active defensively. Active on the boards. Variety of moves in the post and showed an ability to finish with either hand and over either shoulder. Kept ball high enough that defense could not get to it.
