However, here are a few guards who have done an excellent job of carrying momentum from early spring on throughout the summer. We should anticipate these players to continue their runs right into their high school seasons.
Kaylee Yarbrough Kaylee Yarbrough 5’7″ | SF New Hope | 2025 State AL is one of the best scorers in the entire state of Alabama. Yarbrough is a 3-level scorer who has range as far as, if not further, than any other player that I’ve personally covered. Yarbrough is an underrated athlete with a good handle. This allows her to get wherever she wants offensively. Fresh off of a deep state tournament run and a so far impressive AAU season i’d expect Yarbrough to continue to excel the upcoming winter.
This isn’t the first time that I’ve written about Ally Blankinchip Ally Blankinchip 5’3″ | CG Prattville Christian | 2025 State AL , and there is a reason for that. The already relentlessly fierce competitor has both surrounded herself with, and competed against elite level talent. Blankinchip continues to get better at just about every aspect of the game of basketball which is scary considering she is already usually the most competitive player out on the court. Blankinchip plays with an immeasurable amount of heart, and has grown into a leader, playmaker, and more than capable shooter.
Leslie Hames
Leslie Hames
Leslie Hames has a a case as one of the best shooters in the entire state. Hames holds school records and is on pace to break even more. Hames game starts from behind the arc, but her deadly accurate ability from deep opens up her game and allows her score from wherever. Fresh off of a deep state tournament run, Hames took this spring and summer off to get into the lab and focus on improving her skills. expect Hames and Priceville to make some more noise again this winter.
Samarian Franklin Samarian Franklin 5’5″ | PG Wenonah | 2025 State AL is a nightmare for opposing defenses. She truly emulates what we are seeing in modern day point guards at the highest level, and what I mean by that is that she can flat our score the basketball seemingly however she wants. Don’t get me wrong, Franklin is a more than capable playmaker as well. However, her abilty to handle, create and make difficult shots, and her athleticism, make her near unguardable at times. Franklin is one of the most dangerous offensive players I’ve seen.
