Samarian is one of the best pure point guards in her class. She controls the whole game and runs the offense without skipping a beat. Samarian gets her teammates involved with her unselfish play but has no problem scoring at will. She is crafty and very skilled and has a good shot from beyond the arc. She led her team to a win over Jacksonville with 13pts & 7 assist while the defense was solely geared to stop her, as she showed she was the best player without scoring a ton. Franklin has multiple 30pt games this season as she at times will just take over a game. She’s a candidate for top 5A player of the year & will be a big addition to a school at the next level.

She left it all on the floor and proved with her leadership and skill set she is easily my pick for 5A player of the year.

Even if she’s not the best on-ball defender, her ability to pick pockets and intercept passes is impressive. Averaging 24.4 points per game, 6.5 steals, and 8.7 assists puts her at the top in Alabama and even in the top 10 in the country! She’s definitely making a name for herself!

She can score with screens and without screens, and she’s a clever scorer who loves to get weaker defenders switched onto her so she can attack them. Samarian also has a high motor, and her confidence is out of this world! I saw games where she was cold going into the half, but then finished with 20+ points in just one half. So far, Samarian has scored 567 points in 23 games, averaging 23.5 points per game, shooting 43% FG and 34% from 3, with 30 3-pointers made this season.

This season she thrives with pick and roll, and her amazing ball-handling skills fake the defender in the screen while she pulls up for her jumpshot that is money. Samarian’s floater game is also elite, with her embarrassing the defender with her step-back hesi, which has defenders thinking she’s going to shoot. She drives and shoots a nice floater shot. Samarian is currently averaging 24 points per game, shooting 47% from the field and shooting 33% from the 3-ball this season. Samarian also hit 55 3-pointers this season, which is impressive since she is also top 10 in the country in assists this season.

I have watched Samarian this season start the first half with 0 points and 7 assists. She understands how to affect the game in multiple ways, and Samarian understands how to win a game and contribute in multiple ways. Samarian is my pick to win 5A Player of the Year also because there isn’t a more valuable player in 5A, let alone a player with this skill set that has to carry a bigger load than her this season that contributed to winning.

Being one of the top scorers in Alabama also enhances her passing ability, as she makes most of her passes while being trapped and double-teamed. Samarian also has 122 assists so far in 14 games.

With leading her team to a 8-0 start due to her amazing passing skills and tremendous scoring has a lot of accomplishments in her high school career except a 5a State championship. Samarian looks on pace to win a state title this year and is my pick for 5A Player of the year.
