I’d never seen Frey before, from what I can remember. That said, I thought she was outstanding in both games I watched her play. She routinely got by her initial defender and created good looks for teammates. Watching her do that twice on two different days isn’t a fluke. I think she’s a legitimately good lead guard that helps her team win games. She’s a kid I want to watch again in high school or AAU.
I’d never seen the Brookfield Academy product before this weekend, and I thought she was excellent, especially on Saturday. Jensen is a kid who makes quick decisions on the floor and isn’t afraid to shoot the second she touches the ball when she has space. I also like how fast her release is when she takes a shot. Her size and length make her difficult to defend when kids don’t have the length to contest her shot.

Another 2025 from Pink Elite I liked this weekend was Kendra Brown Kendra Brown 5'8" | SG Kaneland | 2025 State IL . With some roster changes, I expected kids to impress with more opportunities, and Brown seemed to step up every time she got the ball in her hands. I never knew how good she was with the ball in her hands. Brown is quick, and her first step can get defenders off balance, and Brown’s another kid who can get her shot up in a hurry, and Brown made defenders pay for giving up too much ground. I’m not sure I’ll see her again this summer, but she’s a kid who I’d like to see more to try and figure out if she’s an off-ball guard who can carry the majority of playmaking duties.
Katie Janssen
The 2026 Playground Elite team has plenty of new pieces who’ve been figuring out where they fit in the grand scheme of things, and Emilyn Bonow and Janssen seemed to have found their spots over the past few weeks. Janssen’s shooting was a real problem for defenses these past few days, and she hit a couple against Become One in Louisville in the 15U Semifinal game. For those who are more high basketball oriented, I’m eager to see where Janssen, Sophie Trimble Sophie Trimble 5'10" | SF Menomonee Falls | 2025 State WI , and Clare Shea Clare Shea 5'10" | SF Menomonee Falls | 2025 State WI can lead their Menomonee Falls team these next two seasons.
