. The Viking isn’t necessarily the most gifted kid on the floor on her team, but she’s usually the most responsible. The 5’5 guard seldom makes mistakes with the ball and keeps the offense moving. She shot over 50% from the field and was north of 80% at the free-throw line. She finds ways to punish defenses and takes the path of least resistance. Frey doesn’t ever try to do anything that’s not part of her game, which means she always stays within herself. I wouldn’t be surprised if all her coaches loved her because she’s everything coaches want in lead guards.

The Wisconsin Lutheran guard has a knack for making things work. No matter where I see her play, she manages to get the best out of herself and the people around her on the floor. She can spot up from the three-point line or attack the basket off the dribble. I love her level of engagement on the defensive end of the floor and how well she manages to force live-ball turnovers. Frey may not jump off the page if you watch her one time, but you appreciate what she does the more you watch her play. She’s uber-consistent.
