As we look at the AAU season and look forward to the high school season, it's worth noting what players might stand out from category-to-category. Milestone numbers are worth noting, and one of the biggest just might be for scoring, the 20.0 PPG threshold. A few handfuls of players were able to reach that mark last season, but the question is who is next up in the Garden State?

[player_tooltip player_id='488858' first='Samantha' last='Serrano'] - Holy Angels (2024)

Serrano was right on the cusp of reaching the 20.0 PPG threshold last season, averaging 19.5 PPG in 27 games for Holy Angels. That was far and away a new career-high for her, nearly doubling her scoring average from her sophomore year. With that significant of a jump into Year 3, her senior season is going to be massive, with plenty of perimeter shooting to boot.

[player_tooltip player_id='325170' first='Kylie' last='Cabana'] - Paramus Catholic (2024)

Nestled into the same division and conference as Serrano, which means plenty of head-to-head competition, Cabana flourished as a primarily interior player with some range to her game. Her first double-double season average in high school also came with a 16.6 PPG scoring average. Cabana took a big leap as a sophomore and plateaued as a junior, but she has the kind of dominance in her to take another leap as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='488765' first='Soleil' last='Casseus'] - Medford Tech (2024)

Casseus is most definitely an all-conference player, but some might be puzzled at this addition to the list as she didn't even average 15.0 PPG as a junior. However, the graduation of teammate Jada Jacobs removes more than 22 PPG from the lineup headed into next season. Somehow, that void will need to be filled, and with Casseus hauling the freight as a junior, she's going to be the star of the show as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='414395' first='Reese' last='Downey'] - Absegami (2025)

Downey has had an electric start to her high school career and is easily one of the best players in South Jersey without question. Her first two high school seasons saw her hover around 16-17 PPG, showing consistency in scoring while being able to correct and improve over facets of her game. Her junior year is one that she can break out and take that additional step offensively, whether that be through driving into the paint or pulling up from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='325187' first='Ghelsey' last='Go'] - Edison (2025)

Go is a dominant and versatile player, possessing strengths both as a guard and a forward. She's the entire package as a player and she can do so much on the floor, the intangibles list is endless. Last season was a career year as she averaged 16.8 PPG in 28 games a massive improvement from a disappointing sophomore campaign. Go commands the floor and is the leader of Edison's team. The stars are aligning for that 20-point season no doubt.

[player_tooltip player_id='414402' first='Jessica' last='Devine'] - Middlesex (2025)

Middlesex had a pair of standouts on its team this past season in Neysa Aguilar and the sophomore Devine. She's one of the most complete guards in the 2025 class, let alone all of New Jersey, with nearly six assists a game and 5.5 rebounds a game to go along with more than 18.1 PPG as a sophomore. Her defense was as good, if not better, but the recipe for success is already there and proven. Devine's junior year is going to be electric, simply put.
