One of those players is currently the #1 player in the nation. Who’s it? Well, I guess you should SUBSCRIBE to the site today for all the latest coverage year round. #RecruitThePalmettoState
Joyce Edwards Joyce Edwards 6'3" | PF Camden | 2024 State SC – Camden HS
Joyce and her teammates ripped through the competition here today at #SCLive Edwards will be playing with Team USA in July at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Madrid, Spain. Where will she end up after high school? Edwards helped the Lady Bulldogs win a Class 3A State Championship last season while eclipsing 3,000 points in her career. Edwards currently has 3,016 points and 1,495 rebounds entering her senior season.
Joyce was extremely effective on both ends of the floor with her willingness to finish everything she shot up today. She is currently ranked the #1 player in the United States and of course she has been on top here from Day 1 of the 2024 Palmetto State since her freshman season.
Joyce and her teammates looked better than ever this weekend. Who will stand in the way of the Lady Bulldogs this season? Good luck in Spain and the rest of the way down the road.
Dianna Blake Dianna Blake 6'1" | PF Ashley Ridge | 2024 State SC – Ashley Ridge HS (Summerville)
Blake has had a good spring and summer on the Grassroots and High School tour. Dianna understands being efficient around the cup with her game. She constantly brings a double-double to the table for the Lady Swamp Foxes. Blake has soft hands and a soft touch when it comes to finishing around the cup.
Tatiana Fisher Tatiana Fisher 5'11" | PF Hartsville | 2024 State SC – Hartsville HS
Fisher was a pleasant surprise here today as she decided to not play Grassroots ball this past spring. Tatiana has certainly picked up her game with her play while finishing better around the cup. She runs the floor well and especially does a nice job getting to her spots on the around the paint. Tatiana thrives on contact with her actions around the basket. Her best basketball is yet to come down the road for the Lady Red Foxes and Head Coach Justin Johnson.
Trinity Mickell Trinity Mickell 6'0" | C Allendale-Fairfax | 2024 State SC – Allendale-Fairfax HS
Mickell is a bruiser down in the paint. Trinity has a great set of shoulders to knock around defenders down in the lane. She will rebound the ball extremely well on both ends of the court and especially outside of her area. Mickell plays at a small Class 1A school in the Lowcountry. College coaches don’t let that stop you from recruiting her – she runs on the Grassroots Circuit with H2 Lowco.
Genesis Young Genesis Young 5'10" | PF Spartanburg | 2024 State SC – Spartanburg HS
Young plays with her back to the basket while causing quite a stir down low in the paint. She will battle and go to work carving out space and separation down on the block. Genesis keeps the ball up high after claiming it off glass every time.
Annabella Foster Annabella Foster 5'10" | PF Blacksburg | 2024 State SC – Blacksburg HS
Foster plays the game extremely aggressively while on the hardwood. She can connect on the elbow jumper but most of her work is down in the paint area for the Lady Wildcats. Annabella stays active at all times and really has a good nose for the ball. Foster and new teammate Shyrique Parker Shyrique Parker 5'11" | SF Blacksburg | 2024 State SC will make a solid 1-2 duo in the Upstate for the Lady Wildcats.
Aylissa Pelzer Aylissa Pelzer 6'1" | C Riverside | 2024 State SC – Riverside HS
Pelzer moves well from side to side down on the block for the Lady Warriors. She was able to convert a nice drop-step move today around the bucket. She plays strictly inside the paint and won’t look to wander away anywhere else. Aylissa has good footwork and a great work ethic down low while posting and playing with her back to the basket.
There it goes the #SCLive action is now in the books. This year brought twice as many teams to the table than the previous year. Rock Hill was a great host and an even better venue. Congratulations to the SCBCA and SCHSL for a great event and let’s do it again next year at the same time.
