Reese Jaramillo Reese Jaramillo 5'9" | SG Prairie | 2024 State WI
The last time I saw Jaramillo play was in December when her TPS team traveled to Dominican. This afternoon I thought she was the most aggressive kid on the floor and made a lot of shots that screamed confidence. Jaramillo took a stepback jumper on a one-on-one fast break and made it: if that gives you an idea. I thought she made her fair share of timely shots and looked excellent.
Vanhi Chava Vanhi Chava 5'6" | PG Pewaukee | 2024 WI
I firmly believe that Chava is one of the most if not the most, undervalued kids in Wisconsin. Plenty of guards who can’t create their shot as well as Chava can, and it was on full display this weekend at Mukwonago. If she attended any other high school, she’d be a significant contributor anywhere in the state. I’m unaware if she wants to play at the next level, but I think every small school in the state should be after her if she does.
Emilyn Bonow
I’ve seen Bonow a handful of times during the AAU season, but this weekend was by far the best I’d seen her play, and it’s not close. I thought she played confidently this weekend and came out of her shell offensively. For most of these past two months, Bonow has been a spot-up shooter, but she was happy to pump and go and be a threat attacking the rim. Of everyone I saw this weekend, I learned the most about her. Knowing she has more within her makes me want to watch more of her over these next few months.
Brooke Spychalski Brooke Spychalski 5'9" | CG Yorkville | 2025 State IL
Watching Spychalski in one-on-one situations is one of the most fun things about watching Pink Elite. Spychalski doesn’t need much room to get shots off in the first place, but watching her create space in three dribbles or less is a work of art. Kids like her will excel when they get to the next level and have to play with a shot clock because she can make something out of nothing in a hurry. I hope people in Illinois appreciate what she can do on the offensive end.
