In this article, we look at some of the young and versatile forwards who stood out at the Inside Exposure Summer Championship.
Ya’Zuri Hollie
Ya’Zuri Hollie
Hollie without question was the top Middle School Forward in the building. The athleticism jumps off of the court and so does the basketball abilities. Hollie had her way on the offensive end. She scored from every spot on the court and meets the description of a three level scorer. Hollie had a good touch from three point land and pull up jumpers in the mid area. Her drives to goal were really advanced and there you see the athleticism and ability. Hollie is poised to be an instant impactful player on the Varsity level next season.
Weaver played well at the Summer Championship. Defensively, she is really taking off on blocking shots and playing helpside defense. At an early age she is already making the paint her domain and helping teammates who get beat on drives to the basket. Offensively, she is doing a good job making the easy shots inside. One thing noticeable at the Summer Championship was her ability to flash to the open spot in the offensive sets. She was often open under the goal, but the guards couldnt see her to get the ball to her. This will payoff as she and her guards (currently 5th and 6th grade ) get older.

Safford played up in the high school division and competed against players up to three grades higher. Safford rebounded well and had some nice scoring plays on the inside. Safford will be able to use the experience of playing with high schoolers next basketball season.
