This was the third week of a four-week league with Wichita area schools participating.

In the second game of the evening, Andover came back from an 8-point halftime deficit to defeat Wellington 49-40.

Here is a look at four players who turned in solid efforts in the scorching environment.

[player_tooltip player_id='231259' first='Brooke' last='Walker'], 5'8”, G, Andover, ‘24

Walker had the best game I have seen her play this summer. She is currently ranked No. 3 in the Kansas Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2024 Rankings. She scored 16 points in the victory over Wellington. She shot 7-for-13 from the floor and made 3-of-4 3-point field goal attempts. She picked up her defense with four steals in the nightcap. During Andover's first game of the night, she scored just two points. She can take over a game when she needs to.

[player_tooltip player_id='349450' first='Valorie' last='Norwood'], 5'8”, G, Wellington, ‘25

Norwood is a very impressive player. She absolutely glows when she is on the court and everyone watching can tell she loves the game. The Wellington prospect scored seven points. She made her first three field goal attempts of the game. She has a sweet jump shot, plays defense, and can run the court. Norwood finished the game with six rebounds. She was a member of the All-State Class 4A team as a sophomore. She will have plenty of Division I and Division coaches recruiting her.

[player_tooltip player_id='622112' first='Kylan' last='Gregory'], 6'0”, PF, Wellington ‘26

Gregory has the chance to develop into one of the best post players in Class 4A. She finished with eight points in the loss to Andover, shooting 4-of-7 from the field. She is a physical player and she likes to drive the basketball. Gregory is currently ranked No. 14 in the Class of 2026 by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas.

Drew Zeka, 5'6”, SG, Wellington, ‘27

A freshman player I was really struck by was Wellington's Zeka. She made two 3-point baskets off the bench. She has a pure-looking jump shot and I was actually surprised when she missed one. The Wellington guard could see quality varsity time as a freshman and experience goes a long way in getting recruited later down the road.
