Ri’Azia Smith (Waco Elite)
Smith is long and athletic, which I call “the base” but when you factor in her strength and her desire to battle for everything off the rim, that’s big but so was her scoring around the basket as well as interior defense. She also applied heat on the ball outside of the paint and her timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots was nice
Abby Price (Waco Elite)
Price showed she could create her shot under pressure and knock it down but her ballhandling was solid as well as her court vision either in the set or attacking the basket. She also scored off the dribble
Mariah Diaz (Waco Elite)
Diaz also did a good job handling the ball and seeing the floor, it the set as well as in transition plus she understands how to control the tempo and get her teammates involved
Sydney McKinney (Waco Elite)
McKinney is “long and athletic” and one more time, that is the base and her first step created some problems for defenders as he got to the basket with ease and finished after contact. On top of that, she played the passing lane
Christin Boggess (Waco Elite)
Boggess is an athletic guard that uses her athleticism well on both ends of the court. Her “on the ball” pressure baseline to baseline was solid, she even came away with steals but her scoring off the dribble was also a plus
Kendall Rhymes (Waco Elite)
Rhymes was singing a different tune as she used her body well inside the paint to not only rebound on both ends but score around the basket, putbacks included. She ran the floor, on both ends and played solid defense in the paint
Averi Harris (Waco Elite)
Harris was another “long and athletic” player, I mention that because it’s a profile I love to evaluate yet more importantly so do many college coaches, and watching her apply pressure on defense along with playing the passing lane was nice, as well as her rebounding
Mackenzie Short (SA Finest Blue)
Short played tall is what I think I tweeted yet watching her set the defender up to get her shot off was nice but what was even nicer was watching her knock it down from mid to long range. To top it off, she showed me the “catch and shoot” with accuracy
Kendall Johnson (SA Finest Blue)
Johnson is a long and athletic guard, which also works, especially when you factor in her intangibles. Her on-the-ball pressure was nice, so was her first step to attack the basket and her body control helped her finish after contact. Her pull-up jumper is on the cover, she dropped it from mid to long range and she played the passing lane
Angelina Gomez (SA Finest Blue)
Gomez created her shot under pressure to either attack the basket and score or shoot the jumper which she knocked down while being defended. Her deceptive first step played a part in that yet she also dropped the jumper in transition
Mehlena Ariaz (SA Finest Blue)
Ariaz played the passing lane numerous times but she also did a good job of setting the defender up to attack the basket strongly or drop the jumper. Her “catch and shoot” was also nice
Natalie Wang (SA Finest Blue)
Wang plays within herself which is always a good thing and also showed she could get hers in the flow but she didn’t mind taking the “big shot” and dropped it from deep
