The talent is here and its from all over the state. My focus this weekend was on the 2025’s & they didn’t disappoint. Below are my top 25’s on the rise!
2025 Updated Rankings will be released June 21st.
One of the best handlers all weekend. Proctor plays the one guard with tons of patience and IQ. She knows how to split traps and find angles to attack or to create for others. Three levels of scoring, and has the perimeter on lockdown when she’s on defense. So much talent.
Highlights
There was no other post player like Powers this weekend. Amazing hands, soft touch under the rim, and she knows how to seal then keep the ball high when she receives the high entry pass. Strong, active and LOUD (on both ends). Jarius is making a case for the best post in her class.
Mazza has taken her talents to Benet Academy, and seems to fit right in. Crafty on the paint attack, knockdown shooter from the mid to the arc, and uses her size to stay low on the defensive side and cause havoc. Mazza can score in bunches or she can facilitate for 5+ straight possessions and not have a drop off.
Highlights
The confidence seems to grow every time I watch Lindsay play, and especially on the offensive end. Being a lefty is always hard to guard and she’s starting to take advantage of that. Attempting threes, finishing quick putbacks around the rim and also showing flashes of a solid play maker.
Highlights
The length and the court vision that Wheeler posses is a necessity for any program. She can score around the rim just as well as she can defend in that area. Playing multiple possessions as the facilitator and then as the main scorer, I was able to see two sides of her skill set. She moves well without the ball, and has always has her head on a swivel for the next best pass when she is in that play making role.
Tons of athleticism and energy. Harden uses her length to be a headache for opponents on both sides of the court. As the skill set starts to expand and develop, Harden is going to find her self receiving calls from coaches soon. Solid potential.
Benjamin has all the tools to be a number one option on her HS program, and she showed flashes of that this weekend. Tough defender, excellent playmaker and a three level scorer who plays each possession tough and alert. She gets the paint in just a couple of moves and doesn’t seem to play out of her skill set. Strong and secure with the ball.
Highlights
Easily one of the top forwards in this class, Hoffmans ability to pass the ball stood out this weekend. Out of bounds passes are pinpoint, and passes to the cutters are always in front and leading. She has a wide set of skills that translate to the whatever the team needs in that possession. Her patience and length are key to her being a strong facilitator as well.
Brown can quickly become a threat behind the arc if she’s not covered, but her footwork and well timed pump fakes allow her to get to the rim and finish just as well. Crafty around the rim, and aware of her teammates movement. Brown makes for a solid combo guard that can produce in multiple systems.
Highlights
So versatile, active and efficient in every facet of the game. Barkers length makes her true headache on both sides of the court. Her scoring ability is three levels matched with great IQ, and defensively her size is a problem for most offensive schemes. She covers a lot of ground and can play and produce in multiple roles and positions.
Confidence truly sets players apart ,and Reed has found her groove. The handles, the patience, and the ability to create for herself just as well as others was noticed all weekend. Going head to head with a top team on Saturday, Reed scored in a multiple ways, behind the arc, the midrange and showed the craftiness to score through or around traffic in the paint. Huge upside.
Highlights
Murphy is a shooter, and she truly could make a case for top 5 in this class. With multiple playmakers around her, Brooklyn finds her way around the perimeter to be open and has the IQ to be in perfect spots where she could draw close outs and kick it to the next open person. As her all around game grows Murphy will start to be impactful beyond jus behind the perimeter. She has the length and the even kill attitude to be a true piece for her program. Strong potential.
Highlights
You’re perfect off ball guard. KJ has that defensive mindset but also has the ability to get hot for 8+ on any given night. She can make the pull up midrange, and finishes at the rim with contact and gets loose on the fast break. Her energy and stamina are top tier and she puts pressure on the opponent in multiple ways, but especially on the defensive side.
