Expert Analysis

It’s rare to come across talent that could get better at the next level, but Reed is one of those players. Though she consistently shows how impactful she is with the ball in her hands, her instincts without the ball often get overlooked. She could easily thrive as a catch-and-shoot type of player when she arrives at Akron.

Reed is heading to a program that’s going through a rebuild, but that usually works out well for players who can adapt to systems. Reed can do just that. Having the balance of being able to score from multiple levels, as well as slide into the facilitating role, Corinne might find herself helping out the Zips sooner rather than later. Big senior season coming up.

Corrine can score off the pull-up and has the IQ to see and create opportunities for her teammates if the defense rotates off those closeouts. Strong IQ
One of the smoothest players in this class. With the ball in her hands, she can make plays off the inbound or in the half-court. In a college program, I can see her excelling in a catch-and-shoot role simply because she’s able to make plays off the catch just as well as score. Similar to how Darrione Rogers was utilized in her last years with DePaul.

Reed has seem to break out of her shell this past spring, and the off the court work is showing. Three level scorer, and the ability to facilitate without many mistakes. She can score in an isolation situation, within an offense or with time running down. She has good size which allows her to deal with contact and the court vision to make another play if the first option is shut down. Reed will be a player to keep an eye on when July ball kicks off.

Confidence truly sets players apart ,and Reed has found her groove. The handles, the patience, and the ability to create for herself just as well as others was noticed all weekend. Going head to head with a top team on Saturday, Reed scored in a multiple ways, behind the arc, the midrange and showed the craftiness to score through or around traffic in the paint. Huge upside.

Reed is making noise, multiple times throughout the event I over heard coaches say “this kid is tough”. Corinne can score at all levels. She has a twitch to her game that allows her to play at her own pace and not get sped up. Strong handles, strong vision and the ability to play on and off the ball with the same amount of impact. Reed is what a program needs in a guard. Low maintenance and just wants to get the job done.

The touch and creativity around the rim is evident, and her ability to get to the paint is present as well. She can score at 3 levels, and has the vision to make plays for others as well. Reeds skillset is developing game by game, and when her aggressiveness starts to align with her talent, she’ll be on her way as a top player in her class.
