The Hawks hailing from Park Ridge lost a heartbreaker to the Hersey Huskies in the Supersectional to miss a bid to state. This year Maine South brings back almost all of their players along with some fresh faces who are already making an impact. The team is stacked with talent. Let’s take a look at some of the players who will help Maine South make a charge for the 2024 State Title.
- Meegan Fahy Meegan Fahy 5'5" | PG Maine South | 2024 State IL , the Chicago Hoops Express uncommitted senior, always shoots lights-out. She has a never-ending motor with a take-charge attitude. This kid plays with the same intensity if it is the first or last minute of the game.
- Ava Blagojevich Ava Blagojevich 5'9" | CG Maine South | 2024 State IL , the other uncommitted senior leader on this team, is a perfect adjunct to Meegan’s speed and handles. Ava has a great 3pt shot and seems to find any open player on the court.
- Ally Pape Ally Pape 5'11" | SF Maine South | 2025 State IL can cover a lot of ground on the court. She can shoot, create space for plays and her defense is worrisome as an opponent.
- Asia Kobylarczyk doesn’t get enough credit for her play and contributions on the court. The long and lean power forward is smooth to the basket with a soft touch around the rim. She hasn’t even begun to scratch the surface as to how good she will be.
- Cailtin Leyden is such a versatile player. She can play multiple positions, shoot from anywhere on the court and is tough defensively. She will play a key role this year for this team.
- Katie Barker Katie Barker 5'10" | CG Maine South | 2025 State IL made her presence known during this tournament. She is nimble and possesses excellent footwork-she can change positions on a dime.
- Sophomore Amelia Fernandez Amelia Fernandez 5'7" | PG Maine South | 2026 IL is definitely a keeper. Tight handles, speed and an ability to see every player on the court will make her as valuable as any other in the years to come.
