There are some prospects that are just naturally gifted, and that’s not to take away from the work ethic… that’s just to show just how easy some things come to them. I see that in Amelia. She has a natural bounce and shiftiness to her that allows her to play make at a high rate. In the right system, Fernandez has double double every night ability. Excited to see her on the Adidas circuit this year.

2026 3SSB was a constant this weekend in almost every facet of the game for her team. Fernandez has the ability to move between the 1 or the 2 spot within any given line up. She is a Guard with lengthy arms and a lot of raw skill. What impressed me the most about her play this weekend is that whenever her team needed a big bucket or assist, she made it happen at high rate, especially in the closing moments of some of her games. She has an act for being in the right place at the right time and she ALWAYS has her eyes up coming down the floor. Doesn’t matter if it’s in transition or the half court. If there is a teammates of hers that breaks free, she is sure to find them with a crafty pass. This team is full of prospects that could put together really nice careers on the basketball court. They just need to stay in love with the process and they are going to be just fine.

I got to see Amelia before the season kicked off, and what stood out is her ability to make plays. The size may not be there, but the IQ and understanding of when and when not to be “flashy” is present. She can knockdown the open looks, as well as defend combo guards. Not an ounce of “back down” is in her blood either, she played tough against Bolingbrook at the Coach Kipps Fest.

The IQ on Fernandez is off the charts. She seems to have a sixth sense of where the ball is going to go and she is there with a a lightning fast release. She has ridiculously quick feet and she has one speed-fast. On an incredibly stacked team, she will be another one to watch this year and in the years to come.

, the freshman from Maine South, is an agile guard that showed her value for this Full Package team. She is an adept guard with great handles and quick feet. Her superb court vision allows her to direct traffic and execute plays. Fernandez applies tremendous pressure with her pesky defense on the press, forces turnovers and is a nuisance to her opponents.
