Wofford College Team Camp: 2025s (Part 2)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The crescendo of high school camp season is close to arriving. Before that happens, a few more colleges and universities will stage said team camps that will welcome high school assemblings from throughout their respective regions.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of those camps occurred in Spartanburg in the South Carolina Upstate at Wofford College. The Terriers, under the stewardship of coach Jimmy Garrity, have established themselves as one of the premier mid-majors in the collegiate game. Wofford was regular season Southern Conference champions last season and also had an appearance recently in the Women's NIT.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops was on hand for the final day of the three-day camp. Suddeth once again resembled the top-tier talent she is as she tallied 23 points for her team against a tough West Ridge team out of Tennessee. Whenever Suddeth has the ball in her hands, she is a threat to score and whenever she is guarding the painted area she is a threat to reject shots. That was the case for Kelley's John Battle bunch as they matched up against a tough 7A Harrison team out of Georgia. Kelley did prove to be a bright spot for the team. She is a rising junior who is listed at 5-foot-5. Kelley is also a multi-sport athlete as she participates on the varsity soccer team for the Trojans alongside her basketball exploits. She can get herself in position to haul in rebounds and can make plays on defense as well. It certainly will as long as she continues to have games like she did on Sunday afternoon against Palmetto State-based Pickens. Sears tallied 16 points to lead her team to a 47-33 victory against the Pioneers' foes out of South Carolina. Sears plays primarily at the one as she is listed as a 5-foot-9 guard. She resembles a consummate floor general that sets up a team's offense. Sears is a ferocious attacker of the rim that can also get to the free throw line. It was a 27-26 result in favor of the Titans and West Forsyth has Staples in large part to thank. Staples scored 12 points to lead all point-getters for Saturday afternoon's contest at Wofford's camp. Included in those 12 was a go-ahead triple with both teams knotted up at 24 points late. In addition to what she does as a scorer, she takes on the role of floor general and takes good care of the ball to limit turnovers.
