Before that happens, a number of colleges and universities are hosting team camps – including Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Terriers play in the Southern Conference and have received rave reviews for what has taken place the last couple of seasons under head coach Jimmy Garrity.
We at Prep Girls Hoops made the trip up to the Upstate for the final day of the festivities. Here is a look at even more standout 2025s that caught our attention.
Emerson Townshend
Emerson Townshend
With seven points, Townshend began Sunday’s play for her 4A Weddington squad with an impressive showing at Wofford College against 7A South Forsyth out of Georgia. Among the many strong points of her game is her ability to get in position to corral rebounds and her willingness to draw contact that can place her at the free throw line. Shot blocking can also be counted on with Townshend. Versatility is another element to her game as she can play productive minutes as either a two in the backcourt or as a three in the frontcourt. Townshend is a rising junior on the rise.
Page was a key element in the Warriors late second half comeback effort on Sunday morning against 7A South Forsyth out of Georgia. Page finished with eight points as Weddington was on the wrong end of a 47-38 decision to the War Eagles. If one wants a versatile talent on the rise, look no further than Page. She can give a team productive minutes as either a one or a two in the backcourt or as a three in the frontcourt. Getting to the rim and coming through with strong finishes is another way she proves her value. Page will also stand ready to box out in case of a missed free throw via an opponent.
Poole proved to be a centerpiece of the 4A Warriors’ offensive efforts in what was a tough contest against one of Georgia’s premier teams in 7A South Forsyth. She tallied nine points in what was a tough effort by the rising junior standout. Poole can get from one end of the floor to the other with the ball in her hand and plays with a fearless mentality throughout a game. She is willing to go directly at defenders and has no problems drawing contact to give herself – and her team – opportunities at the free throw line. That tenacity is combined with plenty of speed and quickness.
Natalie Brown
Natalie Brown
There are two Natalies listed on the roster for Weddington and both turned in impressive outings on Sunday morning against a tough South Forsyth team out of Georgia. Brown finished with eight points in a matchup that saw a late comeback effort from the 4A Warriors. While Brown typically plays most of her minutes as either a four or a five in the frontcourt, she displayed her offensive versatility at one point as she took – and made – a 3-point attempt. Brown also displays plenty of court awareness and has a high basketball IQ. She can come from seemingly out of nowhere to haul in rebounds and those on the offensive glass can become two-point putbacks.
Harrison put together, arguably, the most dominant performance of Sunday’s play as the 7A Hoyas thrashed the Virginia-based John Battle Trojans. For much of the game, the barrage of points was led by Vick. She is listed at 5-foot-9 and can play productive minutes as either a one or a two guard. With as much contact as she absorbs, she will have plenty of opportunities at the free throw line. Defensively, Vick can create additional possessions for her team with the steals she can corral. The ability to drain her attempts from long range and get out in transition are other main elements to her game.
