One of the final camps of the month of June prior to the travel schedule restarting for July, it is a much anticipated occasion for many teams and would-be prospects given the success the program has encountered lately.
We at Prep Girls Hoops made the trip up to Spartanburg for the occasion – and continue our look at rising sophomores and freshmen who made an impact this past weekend.
Brooklynn King
Brooklynn King
Every point mattered in a defensive-minded contest such as what transpired when West Forsyth took to the court against River Bluff. King tallied eight points in what was, arguably, the most competitive game of the day that took place at the Terriers’ primary gym. King can give a team hustle plays in addition to what she does as a rebounder. When an opposing team is at the free throw line, she stands ready to box out in case said attempt is unsuccessful. She is a rising sophomore who is listed at 5-foot-8 on the Titans’ roster and can play productive minutes as either a three or four forward.
With an eight-point outing, Tifre kept her 5A Gators in a tight contest against the Titans of West Forsyth from start to finish. She primarily plays at either the four or the five in the frontcourt. Tifre is a rising sophomore who is listed at 5-foot-7 on River Bluff’s roster. That height is combined with length which can come in useful either as a rebounder or when looking to create issues for opponents on defense. Tifre can give a team plenty of hustle and she is willing to draw contact that can give her team chances at the free throw line.
Laila Harvey

Harvey shared team captaincy duties on the 2022-23 rendition of Eastside basketball along with Alaysia Nash. She finished with eight points to conclude her team’s matchup with Providence Day. Harvey primarily plays at either of the forward positions as either a three or a four. She is listed at 5-foot-6. She also participates as a swimmer in addition to what she gets accomplished on the basketball court. One can easily see Harvey over the next three years as the anchor of the Eagles frontcourt as Ginny Anne Dumont Ginny Anne Dumont 5’10” | SG Eastside | 2027 State SC , the team’s transfer from St. Joseph’s Catholic, will lead the team’s backcourt.
Following the graduation of Alaysia Nash, the Eagles needed someone that can fill her shoes. Dumont, a transfer from 1A St. Joseph’s Catholic showcased she can do just that as a rising freshman. Even though her Eagles dropped a 52-41 decision to North Carolina-based Providence Day, Dumont led all point-getters as she tallied 18 of her team’s points. Along with Dumont’s ability to score from virtually anywhere on the floor, she shines as a floor general, displaying impressive leadership qualities for someone as young as she is. If a list of top 2027s from South Carolina does not include this multi-talented standout – is it really a list?
