I scouted two early matches from the eight courts worth of basketball action.
The second game I watched featured the Kansas Red Elite 2026 and MO Legacy 2026 teams in 15U Pool B Play. The Kansas squad knocked off the Legacy team 32-22 behind a chaotic defensive performance.
Lexi Cooley Lexi Cooley 5'5" | PG Olathe West | 2026 State KS , 5’5”, CG, Olathe West, ‘26
Cooley is a shutdown defender who is currently ranked No. 2 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She filled up the stat sheet with a team-high 16 points and six steals. Her defensive play is infectious and the rest of the team feeds off that. She loves to drive the ball, push the pace, and score off turnovers. The Olathe West prospect shot an impressive 7-of-23 from the field.
Ava Grosdidier Ava Grosdidier 5'10" | PF Blue Valley Northwest | 2026 State KS , 5’9″, PF, Blue Valley Northwest, ‘26
I really liked Grosdidier’s make-up. She is a player who with continued evolution will be a major threat in the post. The Huskies prospect scored four points and finished with two rebounds in the Elite’s win. She works hard to block out and fight for position under the basket. She also has a quick catch-and-release in the post which is important.
Dacyn Blanding, 5’3″, SF, Olathe Northwest, ‘26
Blanding can really hustle. The Elite team started off slowly, but Blanding brought new energy into the game when she entered off the bench. The Ravens’ prospect finished with five points, four steals, and three rebounds. As she becomes more experienced, she should look to score more often.
Sofia Calovich, 5’9″, PF, St. Thomas Aquinas, ‘27
Calovich is a glass cleaner. She finished with a team-high seven rebounds while also scoring seven points. The Saints’ product is a smart player who looks for open teammates but can still force the issue by driving to the basket. She is a physical presence inside and plays at both ends.
