Athletes from all high school ages competed against one another learning and growing from different styles of play. Let’s take a look at some of the stand out 2024s from the event.
Favor Elabour
Favor Elabour
Favour Elabor did a nice job standing her ground in the paint blocking shots and grabbing rebounds. Her footwork and strength were apparent on offense, too, being able to make some moves and score her points after sealing off her opponents. She cut block to block shifting the defense making herself a big target with her hands up.
Alejandra Escriva
Alejandra Escriva
Alejandra Escriva showed off her range shooting the ball. She was definitely one of the more vocal teammates for her group calling out directions and making plays for her team. Her vision was apparent on the court finding her open teammates and knowing how to fill in the lanes.
Skyler Fleck Skyler Fleck 5’5″ | CG Ardrey Kell | 2024 NC did a nice job showing off her stroke from deep. On defense, she was reading her opponents well jumping into passing lanes to grab the steal and push the other direction. She was moving on offense finding the open looks and putting up her shot.
Reese Fritz Reese Fritz 5’8″ | SG 1 Of 1 Prep | 2024 State NC seemed to be at the free throw line on many occasions after attacking the basket and scoring. She runs the floor well being able to catch the pass in transition to score some points. She jumped in front of passing lanes and pushed the ball the other direction to score on fast breaks. Her stroke from deep was of course on display, too.
Highlights
Alana Hankerson Alana Hankerson 5’6″ | PG 1 of 1 Prep | 2025 State NC does a nice job finessing her way to the hoop. She can knock down her shot from deep, too, no matter who is closing out on her. Her quickness is an asset scoring by making speedy cuts, catching the ball, and putting it through the hoop.
Alyssa Hankerson Alyssa Hankerson 5’6″ | SG Charlotte Country Day (1 of 1 Prep) | 2025 State NC showed off her range shooting the ball. In one series, she knocked down a three pointer. Then, turned around to get the rebound and pushed the ball up the court finding a teammate for a transition three. She stayed in front of her opponents blocking shots on defense.
Maliah Preston Maliah Preston 5’8″ | SG Quality Education Academy | 2024 State NC had a nice jab step losing her defender to put up her shot. She was crafty getting inside to score some points or make the dish to her teammates. She hustles back on defense being ready to block the shot in transition. She cuts hard to the basket catching it and being ready to put it right back up through the hoop.
Caroline Donaldson Caroline Donaldson 5’11” | PF 1 Of 1 Prep | 2024 NC was constantly moving on offense being able to flash in the paint for the pass or clear out moving her defender with her. She was great rebounding on both ends of the court. She hustles back on offense being ready for a pass to score on a fast break.
