Megan Johnson Megan Johnson 5'11" | PF West Salem | 2025 State WI
The versatility that Johnson has is her best attribute. I see her as a forward who can also play as a wing in lineups meant to be taller. In high school, most of her offense came in the paint, and she was good enough at that to lead her team to a sectional title and a state tournament appearance. In AAU, you see more of what she can do on the perimeter, and she was a piece to the puzzle that helped get her Flight Elite team to the Championship Bracket of the 16u EYBL. Her best attribute is that she can do a little of everything.
Isabelle Freisleben Isabelle Freisleben 5'11" | PF New Berlin West | 2025 State WI
As the game continues to embrace spacing, having 6-0 kids who can step out and make shots brings value. The New Berlin West Viking is a smooth-shooting lefty who can consistently hurt teams from range. However, a few other things make her even more intriguing. One is that she’s still a strong kid who can score with her back to the basket against other posts, especially against mismatches. The other thing that she has is a competitive drive that is visual. She’ll set good screens, not let the opposing kids pick her teammates up off the ground, and she’ll battle for everything. She has an edge to her game.
Olivia Grothaus
I’ve been a fan of the profile of player Grothaus for a while. She’s a 5-11 or 6-0 wing with plenty of length. She’s been a solid perimeter shooter and uses her range to keep offensive players in front of her. She brings a ton of value on both ends of the floor and can help a team win games with her activity. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Grothaus pick up more concrete interest in August because she can help teams without scoring.
Olivia Witkowski Olivia Witkowski 6'0" | PF Weyawega-Freemont | 2025 State WI
I’d be surprised if anyone went to watch Witkowski at Weywega-Fremont, but what she can do defensively is exceptional. Only one kid with her physical and athletic profile can do what she does defensively, and the other is committed to playing D2 basketball. I haven’t seen her as much as I did last summer, but her agility and length will always cause opposing teams issues around the basket, and defending the paint is something every team could use.
