One thing about me is that when I'm covering a camp, I'm not camping out because I want to try and see as much as I can from players, especially in the younger groups yet it's always great to catch some of the older ones I may have missed so here's some of the stuff I grabbed from watching them in the variety of skill sessions

Mercedes Moreno-5'4 SG (2024)

Moreno isn't really a new face yet I hadn't seen her for a while and as I was staring at her dropping the "catch and shoot", it clicked. She was one of the best SCORERS I caught over the 3 days and watching her create her shot under pressure to attack or just drop it was nice yet even nicer was her intensity on the defensive end as she went after loose balls, in the air as well as diving on the floor and her pressure on defense also needs to be mentioned because it helped to create turnovers

Nia Rogers-5'6 SG (2024)

Rogers is strong and athletic which rhymes with long and athletic so her powerful moves to the basket translated into the 5 on 5 action yet I'm talking about the skills. She set the defender up nicely to take off the dribble and her ability to create contact while attacking got her to the line a few times, I call that an and one waiting to happen. Her body control on her finishes was also solid, she did a good job of defending on the ball and her quick hands got her some steals

Sadie Vander Schaff-5'7 SG (2025)

Vander Schaff is one of those "never takes a play-off" type of player and her intensity stood out in both the games as well as the skills. She did a good job of making the offensive player pick up her dribble by beating her to the SPOT yet she also understands the importance of boxing out. She also set the defender to take them off the dribble and gave me a few acrobatic finishes showing good body control

Brianna Hunter- 5'3 SG (2025)

Hunter actually seemed to enjoy playing the defense and she did it over and over yet her energy was probably one of the biggest things that grabbed me because she kept coming and when you apply the type of pressure she brought, good things will happen, like creating turnovers. She also understands how to get the defender off balance and her finishes were nice, so was her stop-and-pop jumper

Allison Berry-5'8 G (2025)

Berry falls into one of those situations where I don't get to see players from certain areas unless we are in the same place so I left elated because she's not only long and athletic, she has some very scary upside. She goes after the ball off the rim relentlessly, on both ends and she does it against taller players. Yeah I enjoyed her explosive first step to get to the basket and finish yet her midrange jumper was equally impressive

[player_tooltip player_id='922321' first='Amaya' last='Holton']-6'0 F (2025)

Holton also has some scary upside to go along with being "long and athletic" yet with her standing at 6'0, that's big in itself as far as next-level attraction. Her timing stood out in the skills as she made the offensive player change their shot or she just blocked it. But watching her score off the dribble fluidly and under control was also nice and so was her body control and she even showed she could score from outside with the jumper

Sage Turner-5'4 G (2026)

Turner brought plenty of heat on the defensive end and her on-the-ball pressure was just as intense in the skills as it was in the games. She moves her feet well and she anticipates the offensive players' move and that's not as easy as it sounds. She also showed how strong she was attacking the basket and at times finished with players l; literally hanging on her yet her stop-and-pop jumper added a nice touch to her game

Kayla Abney-5'4 G (2026)

Abney reminded me of that "energizer bunny" because she kept going and going both in the drills as well as the game so I guess she's another "never take a play-off" player yet when she takes off, forget about it because she shifted gears without breaking a stride all tournament, peep this, with the ball. She showed a variety of moves to get by the defender and finish, her jumper was nice and her defense was smothering
