Girls basketball has stayed exciting through the summer with AAU ball and we have even more to look forward to with recruiting. Here is the latest update from the Garden State.
Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ – St. John Vianney (2025) offered by St John’s, Charleston Southern
Matus has really started racking up Division I offers in recent weeks. She can add two more to her list after posting on social media this week offers from St. John’s and Charleston Southern.
She’s a highly entertaining basketball player and someone who is going to be firmly in the spotlight now at SJV going into her junior season. It really seems like the perfect fit for her as this combo guard is a potential 20-point scorer in the right system. She’s averaged 14.0 PPG in 56 career games in high school, a mark that’s surely to rise with the Lancers.
Faith Fedd-Robinson Faith Fedd-Robinson 5'11" | SF Newark Central | 2024 State NJ – Newark Central (2024) offered by Richmond
Since May 1, Fedd-Robinson now has five Division I offers to her name, adding her third of the month from Atlantic 10 power Richmond on Thursday.
Across the board, it’s tough to say there’s a more complete player in New Jersey, not just in the 2024 class, but in the entirety of the state. If people thought her passing skills were something of concern, she increased her APG from just under 3.0 to 4.3 like it was nothing. Ask and you will receive from her because she’s a student of the game and a fast learner at that.
India Lee – Montclair Immaculate (2024) offered by Southwestern Illinois
When a player receives her first offer, it’s cause for celebration, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do for India Lee, receiving an offer from Southwestern Illinois on Thursday.
Her stats in high school don’t jump off the page like others, but what she might lack in that category, she more than has in raw ability and her current skillset. Also, being a 6-0 guard/forward player doesn’t hurt at all. You can’t teach size and you can’t teach feel of the game, something that she has plenty of. Once she gets her chance this season in high school, we’re excited to see what she can do.
Camille Wiley Camille Wiley 5'9" | CG Montlcair Immaculate | 2025 State NJ – Montclair Immaculate (2025) offered by Coppin State
Lee wasn’t the only player to receive her first collegiate offer recently as a teammate of hers at Montclair IC announced an offer from Coppin State on Wednesday.
A much-improved sophomore season, Wiley definitely became more comfortable and confident on the court, and it showed in her play. Averaging nearly 5.0 PPG, 2.1 RPG and 2.5 APG, she showcased great individual and team play. During this most recent AAU season with Jersey Gemz, Wiley has definitely come into her own more, a solid combo guard with solid intangibles to boot.
Elizabeth Archer Elizabeth Archer 6'0" | SG Blair | 2024 State NJ – Blair (2024) commits to American
We have yet another college commitment to talk about, and it comes from Elizabeth Archer Elizabeth Archer 6'0" | SG Blair | 2024 State NJ out of Blair, announcing her verbal commitment to American the same month as she was offered.
Archer hasn’t even really settled in yet to her time at Blair despite strong numbers in her first season. Her junior year was one of the best on the team and it’s going to lead to even bigger things as she fills the holes from last season’s senior class. A relatively mature and poised player overall, Archer has the archetype of a player to really shine for the Bucs and make other college programs regret not offering her sooner.
