World Record for Youth Basketball Team Attendance. There were so many talented teams and players competing in Louisville across the seven day span. It obviously would’ve been impossible to catch everyone, but I did my best to catch multiple teams in multiple different divisions. Here are some of the forwards that stood out to me in the 2024 divisions.
Marley Spiers
Marley Spiers
Not going to find many players that have as high of a ceiling as Spiers. Playing up multiple divisions, you’d never know without looking at the roster. Smart player who can elevate over defense to get shots off and can finish on both sides of the rim. Rebounded strong and moves really well on both ends of the court. Great passer.
Lauren Hassell

Another player that has as high of a ceiling as you could possibly find. Really versatile. Already able to play and guard multiple positions at a high level. So poised and a true standout every time she steps on the court. Playing up on the 17U level on a very talented team and she consistently shows how she’s one of the best players in the nation in the 2027 class.
So versatile and strong. Excellent rebounder who will do whatever it takes to come up with ball. Can play inside or out offensively and can guard multiple positions as well. Consistently finished tough at the rim. Didn’t force and was smart about the shots she took.
Used her strength so well on both ends of the court. Has excellent size and some of the best hands I saw at any point in the tournament. Made some really tough catches and showed that she can finish strong on both sides of the rim. Also made some tough moves to get to the basket in the paint.

Another versatile player who showed an ability to score in a variety of ways. Used length well to get steals and blocks. Good touch around the basket and stayed with it if first shot didn’t fall. Scoring extends past the perimeter with her deep range shooting ability as well. Made good passes and rebounded well.
Highlights
Impossible to not take notice of her shot blocking abilities. Long and moved feet to consistently get her hands on the ball. Ran the floor and showed a lot of versatility offensively. Able to do a little bit of everything and made some really impressive moves with the ball. Was also a strong rebounder, elevating over others to grab the ball off of the rim.
