World Record for Youth Basketball Team Attendance. There were so many talented teams and players competing in Louisville across the seven day span. It obviously would’ve been impossible to catch everyone, but I did my best to catch multiple teams in multiple different divisions. Here are some of the guards that stood out to me in the 2024 divisions.
Showed her shifty handles and impressive guard skills all week. Made multiple tough drives and finished in crafty ways. Wasn’t forcing stuff and made great reads. Overall, a very smart player who consistently plays hard and can play any guard position effectively.
Crafty floor general who did a great job controlling pace and tempo offensively. She attacked the gaps and made smart drives to the hoop. Had some really tough finishes. Knocked down shots. Did a great job using hesitations to get a step on her defender.
Highlights
Her quick first step and change of speeds allowed her to consistently create space between herself and the defense. Did a great job of drawing help D and then making the right pass to her teammates at the rim. Also strong, good ball handler, used fakes well, and showed she can score inside or out.
I really could put Deere in the guard or forward articles because she has a lot of versatility in her game. Good length and she uses it well to make things hard defensively. Does a great job recognizing mismatches and would post up in those scenarios. Finished well inside, but also showed her strength as a shooter by knocking down shots all over the floor. Also drove gaps, drew help, and made the right reads.

Pull-up jumper was looking tough and proved hard to guard because the defense also had to respect her ability to get all the way to the rim. When help defense stepped over, she wasn’t forcing and made good passes.
