On a talented NJ Rise 2026 team, Synai is the motor of the defense. She does a great job staying in front of the ball, being physical with the ball handler and using active hands to get deflections. She repeatedly made plays at the defensive end in Louisville leading to easy baskets for her team. She does not shy away from any defensive assignments, and she is a force when her team presses their opponents. She is an aggressive rebounder and quickly gets the ball out in transition. Offensively, she has a reliable jumper out to the 3-point line, but she is at her best attacking off the wing. Synai gets downhill hard and uses her body to finish at the rim. After a year at Red Bank Catholic, she will be moving to Red Bank Regional where she will play with NJ Rise teammate Riley Wheeler Riley Wheeler 5’8″ | CG Red Bank Regional | 2026 State NJ . With Josie Munson and her 500+ senior season points graduated and headed to NYU, Synai should have a chance to make a splash as a sophomore after a strong AAU season.
Highlights
With Chole Escanillas controlling the perimeter for NJ Demons, Precious did what she does best which is be a presence in the middle. It felt like Precious altered or blocked every shot that happened in the paint. She used every inch of her 6’3″ to clean up the glass, keep the ball high and quickly outlet the ball to start fast breaks. She has good feet guarding on the perimeter and uses her length to cover ground. Offensively she gets inside and uses her size to seal people off in the post and when she catches, she keeps it high and finishes with both hands. If she gains more confidence in her mid-range jumper, she will become a major threat on the offensive end. After averaging 9+ppg, 7+rpg and 2+bpg as a sophomore at Franklin HS, her numbers should only increase as a junior.
Jayah was all over the court for Team Sharp in Louisville, and she excelled at the defensive end. Steals, blocks, deflections and rebounds there wasn’t anything she didn’t do. She provided great on the ball pressure which disrupted opposing offenses and she played defense from baseline to baseline turning games upside down. Using her length to her advantage, she makes it tough for opposing PGs to initiate offense. With her speed, she turns steals into instant layups at the other end of the court. She pressured opposing teams at the offensive end as well. Jayah attacked the hoop and had defenders on their heels. When the defense adjusted, she used her pull up game to keep scoring. With Tyonna Bailey off to St. John’s, Jayah should receive an opportunity to make an impact at Montclair Immaculate in her sophomore campaign.
Kharington brought a defensive energy to Louisville that I hadn’t noticed during her freshman season at Hudson Catholic. Playing with her NJ Raptors squad she was strong on the ball and took good angles. She showed a good defensive IQ by choosing the right opportunities to double or jump passing lanes. She brought energy and was on the floor after loose balls. None of this affected her offensive output as she is still a scoring threat especially from beyond the 3-point line. As a freshman at Hudson Catholic she was the 3rd leading scorer and 2nd leading 3-point shooter. On a young squad, she will step up even more as a sophomore.
