I’m also going to need to start sending out links on Instagram and stuff. It seems like Twitter is getting weirder and weirder every day. Today I got a targeted ad for an AI essay-writing service. I’m not sure what they’re trying to tell me, but I think the advertisements are getting more and more off-base. Maybe Twitter is losing advertisers? Who knows? What I do know is basketball prospects and today we have scouting reports for five very good ones, written by me… or are they?
I’ve spoken with other coaches before and they agree that Amber-Pocasset is just down there doing things the right way. When you hear that a kid plays at “AmPo,” you just know she is gonna have a load of fundamentals and a high basketball IQ. I got to see Sadie play a few weeks ago and my notes on her start off with “STRONG,” “TOUGH,” and “PLAYS ANGRY (good).” So, that should tell you what jumped out at me. She is a beast on the defensive end and a “dawg” when it comes to driving to the basket. Just a good old, hard-nosed basketball player in the best, most-fun-way-too-watch possible. Oh yeah, did I mention she can shoot? This kid’s a prospect.

Speaking of my notes from a few weeks ago, there was something by Ava in my notes that doesn’t end up by too many kids. It was a star. My fellow coaches and scouts will understand. She had “it” the day that I saw her. She showed off everything you want to see. IQ? Check. High-pointing rebounds, rather than just relying on height? Check. Oh, she can step out and hit the three, too? CHECK! This kid is a baller and still just a 2026 with, likely, some room to grow. Looking back at my notes, I’m starting to think that Team Oklahoma is a bunch of hard-nosed kids who can shoot the lights out. At least their team is full of them according to my notes. Clara is, yet another, very high basketball-IQ player. She can jump out of the gym and is max effort all game long. I know it isn’t good to compare players who are technically in high school at the same time, but I mean, when it’s one of the best players in the state… I wrote down that she reminds me of Jill Twiehaus Jill Twiehaus 5’10” | SG Jenks | 2024 State OK who is committed to Rice. Just like Jill, Clara is incredibly athletic and high IQ, which makes for a really good basketball player.

Y’all know I love me a “Small-School Big” and Addy is the definition of that. She is tall enough and strong enough to battle just about anybody inside. That’s not a problem, she can take the beating. Need her to step outside and handle the ball? No problem. She’s a 5’10” guard with an impossibly high release and a quick stroke. Need her to defend? Sure. She’s got quick feet and won’t get bodied down low. Simply put, Addy is a great all-around prospect and I can’t wait to catch another game of hers!

Another school that raises some outstanding basketball players is Washington. In route to the State Championship Game this season, Kelby had a game against Silo where she drained five three-pointers. She also can be seen in the video hitting a three, then coming back to steal the in-bounds pass. This wasn’t a Regional or anything, this was at State. She performed like this under the brightest of lights! Kelby is long for a 5’6″ player and uses it well on both ends of the floor. She can obviously shoot it. Long story short, she’s a baller, she’s a winner, and she’s a PTP’er as Dickie V would say!
