So, here’s your opportunity, coaches. The other few players are very young and this is a chance to go ahead and start keeping an eye on them. They are most definitely prospects and are going to need to be on some kind of list of yours going forward. You’re going to want to monitor their progression as the seasons go by. These kids are impressive!
I gotta admit, I got a little caught up watching soccer video on Mackenzie’s timeline. I mean, it’s that time of year where we all become women’s soccer experts, right? Well, from the looks of it, Mackenzie is a pretty awesome goalkeeper. But, what I like just a little bit more is the goalkeeper mentality that she brings to the defense when she plays basketball. She is a nasty defender in the best of ways. Don’t get lazy with a pass around her. She will explode on it and be headed the other way. Maybe it’s all the standing around in the goal, waiting for some action? It makes her get on the court and just produce the action herself. She is extremely fast, yet controlled. She finishes strong at the rim, as you would expect and she can shoot the lights out. Whichever sport she chooses, or if she can come to your school and play both potentially, Mackenzie is gonna be a star wherever she places her efforts.
Check out Lauren’s Twitter and several things jump out right off the bat. First off, the 3.94 GPA is a big one. Always good to include that in your bio. Secondly, she was All-Conference last season. That’s definitely a big deal! There aren’t any videos linked on Lauren’s Twitter, but luckily Cashion archives all of their girls’ basketball games… and I’ve seen her in person a couple of times. Jenkins is a strong, confident guard who any coach would be happy to have running the point for them. She can handle the ball and does a good job of getting it to her teammates at the right time. She is a really good spot-up shooter and works hard off the ball to make herself a good option for her teammates. When the ball comes, she hardly ever misses. She’s a fun one to watch, for sure.
I put Clare in here as 5’5″ because that’s what her Hudl said and that’s the only thing I could find, but honestly, I saw her a few weeks ago and she definitely looks taller than that. If she’s not, then she’s fooling a lot of people because she is only 5’5″ but extremely long. When I’ve seen Clare play, she is everywhere. Rebounding. Working off the ball to get open for threes. Dishing one-handed passes to open shooters as she slashes through the lane. She’s definitely an impressive prospect. Watch the video yourself and you’ll see. She’s got the make-up of a winner and someone that almost any college coach would love to have on their roster.

Cassie’s coach tagged me in some video of her right as I was attempting to add another player to this article. That player, however, had no video and no real info on her school or size or anything like that. Let this be a lesson, if you tag me and you have video and info, I will definitely be taking a look… and you may end up in Twitter Evals! The first thing that jumps out on tape is that she is an absolute nuisance on defense. If you are the opposing PG, you better bring a lunchbox because you are gonna be working all day to bring the ball up court and run your offense. She goes hard and is ridiculously tough. Cassie can shoot it and looks to be a very well-rounded, smart player. There’s no way that a kid with this much heart, hustle, and skill doesn’t play at the next level.

I don’t write about 8th graders too much. I prefer to really stick to high school players, but I said when I started these Twitter Evals that if I discovered someone on Twitter worth talking about, I’d let y’all know. Well, Najya is definitely worth talking about. By the time 2028 rolls around, I’ve got a feeling we’re all gonna be talking about her. Even at this young age, you can see her doing some of the little things that come with age and experience that can really get coaches and scouts excited. She’s slippery on offense and has a plethora of moves to get to the rim. When she catches the ball out at the perimeter, don’t blink or she’ll be past you and finishing at the rim before you know it. She goes all out, all the time, which is great to see. I’m very excited to see some of her games in person in the very near future.
