It looks like she might be a soccer player at the next level, and that’s fine. Do what you love. But, she couldn’t not be ranked and ranked pretty highly in the 2026 rankings, due in large part to her phenomenal defense. She is a lock down defender on the ball with great lateral movement and with her size and length, there aren’t many guards or forwards out there that she can’t defend. No slouch on the offensive end, she can handle the ball and doesn’t mind driving hard into the paint and often picking up the “and-1,” as you might expect from a hard-nosed soccer player. If she chooses basketball, she’s got everything a college coach could want, that’s for sure.

I gotta admit, I got a little caught up watching soccer video on Mackenzie’s timeline. I mean, it’s that time of year where we all become women’s soccer experts, right? Well, from the looks of it, Mackenzie is a pretty awesome goalkeeper. But, what I like just a little bit more is the goalkeeper mentality that she brings to the defense when she plays basketball. She is a nasty defender in the best of ways. Don’t get lazy with a pass around her. She will explode on it and be headed the other way. Maybe it’s all the standing around in the goal, waiting for some action? It makes her get on the court and just produce the action herself. She is extremely fast, yet controlled. She finishes strong at the rim, as you would expect and she can shoot the lights out. Whichever sport she chooses, or if she can come to your school and play both potentially, Mackenzie is gonna be a star wherever she places her efforts.
