The event was held from July 6-9 and featured some of the top travel teams in Southern California as well as some out of state teams. I was able to attend the event on Sunday, Jul 9 and I focused on as many of the CA teams I could watch. Here’s a look at some additional standouts I saw.
1.
Kyla Palpallatoc

Twentynine Palms | 2024

CA
– Twentynine Palms/Aim High Lady Ballers Red 17U 2024
This was my first time seeing Palpallatoc play and what stood out the most was her ability to be interchangeable with another ball-handler; she can be the primary ball-handler or she can play off ball. As a playmaker, she has good vision in the halfcourt. Makes quick decisions with the ball in her hands, nice give and go plays and can fake the hand off and attack. She can get to the basket and is able to draw contact and get to the FT line.
2. Aniah Green –
Genesis Hoops
15U 2027
Green stood out as a strong guard with a crafty dribble. She can bump defenders off and bully her way to the basket. Finishes strong through contact. She’s decisive and makes quick, aggressive moves to the basket. She’s a scorer and is comfortable looking for her own shot. Strong on the glass, especially on the offensive end getting put-backs. More of a secondary ball-handler.
3.
Diem Gilbert

– Westchester/Paul George Elite National 2026
Gilbert was a tough little player with a knack for scoring and passing. She stood out for being able to consistently break down the defense and attack off the dribble. She’s on the small side but can be effective. She pushes the pace well in transition and is very quick when getting downhill. Able to finish at the basket, but sometimes bothered by size. When she gets into the lane she can kick out to open teammates.
4.
Rosie Oladokun

– West Coast Elite 15U 2028
Oladokun has an advanced game for a player not yet in high school. She’s a forward with ball-handling skills especially on the break. I saw her play in two games, one with the 15U team and then playing up with the 16U team. On both levels she was able to be effective. She was even trusted at times to be a primary ball-handler. She can shoot with the defender in her space and she uses her length well to extend and finish at the basket.
