In this article we hilight the 2024s who were in the building, handling business on and off the court. On the court, they were knocking down threes, throwing dimes, and getting to the rim. Off the court, they were mentoring the 2026s and the 2027s and giving them a preview of what to expect in the “big leagues.”
The old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words comes to mind when looking at the picture above. Here are a few of those words that rolled off the tongue quiet easily: college recruiters, there is big time talent in this picture, don’t sleep on this special talent, special kids, high basketball IQ, shooters in the house, etc. These words apply to the 2024 players above who attended the Reps on Reps Showcase. They are mostly ranked in the top 150 in the State and some in the top 75. For the record, this picture is worth approximately 3500 points and definitely 8 scholarship offers.
Asya Jones played well at the Reps on Reps and as usual displayed her basketball IQ. Jones has the ability to score the ball by making cuts and receiving passes in a scoring position. She is also a major player in the transition game. Jones is a very good on ball defender. She was amongst the state leaders in assist in any class.
Ansley Hicks Ansley Hicks 5'6" | CG Paxon | 2024 State FL is one of the top athletes on the First Coast and put her talents and skills on display at the showcase. Hicks is a selfless guard who can score, defend multiple positions, and run the point as well. Hicks makes basketball plays to win games. It might be a score, an assist, or the play that broke the defense down and lead to an assist from a teammate.
Mary Kate Kent Mary Kate Kent 5'6" | SG St. Johns Country Day | 2024 State FL is one of the best three point shooters on the First Coast and had the three ball going at the showcase. Kent handles the ball well and also makes plays for her teammates. She communicates well on the courtAnd has great leadership abilities as well
Maya Richards Maya Richards 5'9" | SG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL is one of the best athletes on the First Coast and uses her speed on the defensive end and in the transition game. Richards can defend 4 positions on the court and has the heart to guard the 5th position.
Kennedy Rosendahl Kennedy Rosendahl 5'6" | SG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL is another top shooter on the First Coast who can play the 1, 2, or 3. She has one of the purest shots in the 2024 class and can string up threes in a hurry. I saw her hit 10 threes in a game last season and 8 this summer. Believe it or not, she is one of the most unselfish players around. At Reps on Reps, she was balling, but celebrated more when one of her 9th grade teammates knocked down a midrange shot.
Morgan Gavazzi Morgan Gavazzi 5'6" | PG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL is one of the most versatile players in the 2024 class. Gavazzi runs the point and can distribute the rock, but she is also an agressive at getting to the rim and shooting the three. Gavazzi is also good and getting to her spot and shooting off the catch. She was in her glory at Reps on Reps with guards getting her the ball in positions to knock down the midrange and three point shots. She shot it well at the Showcase.
Nyeemah Dixon Nyeemah Dixon 5'9" | CG Ribault | 2024 State FL If coaches are looking for a sleeper in the 2024 class, look no further than Dixon. She is on a talented Ribault team and is as talented as anyone on the roster. She can score at all levels and can get to the rim with pivots, spins, crossovers, etc She was breaking the defenses down durng the Showcase and that is to also be expected this upcoming season.
Kiyana Hunter Kiyana Hunter 5'3" | PG Mandarin | 2024 State FL played her usual game at the showcase: At 5’3, Hunter sees the floor well, and advances the ball instinctively and can drop dimes to players in the post. She did a good job of setting up players to easily score (Tatum and Gavazzi) and she also mixed in a few drives of her own. She got to the rim and also knocked down a few midrange jumpers.
