Continue ReadingI hadn’t been to Washington in over 50 years and being in Centralia for the first time was interesting as it got me away from the hustle and bustle off the court I’m accustomed to. It also gave me relief from triple-digit weather in Houston, yet the heat on the court to close it out was HOTTTTTT
Tribal Elite
Camryn Longstreet, Chloe Wiley, and Lexie Neel have been mentioned in the above links
Tayanna Carlisle-5’5 (2026)
Carlisle showed good court vision in the set as well as in the transition, she scored off the dribble, had nice body control on her finishes, and also created her shot under pressure. To top that off, she showed the “catch and shoot” from mid to long range
Charbhe Carlilisle-5’7 (2024)
Carlisle played taller than her listed height, her interior defense was solid, she understood positioning and which enabled her to outrebound taller players yet her “hands and footwork” to score around the basket gets the #THROWBACK hashtag
Coastal Sisters
McKenzie Moses. Jayla Moore. Kayleigh Tanner and Amber Swan Amber Swan 5'9" | CG Neah Bay | 2024 WA were earlier standouts
Julia George-5’9 (2026)
George is “long and athletic” and if you follow me, you know I call that the base. Her intangibles are she plays on the ball defense, rebounds, and does what I love to see, play the passing lane. She also showed the jumper in the set, as well as in transition, 3 ball included
Tannah Tayana-5’6 (2026)
Tayana is an athletic guard that uses her athleticism well on both ends. Baseline to baseline pressure on defense, she also defended in the halfcourt but her timing to swipe the ball away had me smiling, plus she played the passing lane
Shyanne Hunter-5’10 (2026)
Hunter is also “long and athletic” and yes, it’s still the base so her timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots immediately grabbed my attention, and so did her defense, in and outside the paint. She also rebounded on both ends of the court
Coastal DC
Naomi Senato Naomi Senato 5'9" | PG Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA and Isabella Ramirez Isabella Ramirez 5'10" | CG Bainbridge Island | 2025 State WA were STANDOUTS from Day 2
Precious Crossguns-5’1 (2023)
Crossguns did a good job of mixing it up offensively as she used a deceptive first step to attack the basket and score after contact included. She also set the defender up to get her shot off from outside and dropped it from mid to very long range
Naomi Senato Naomi Senato 5'9" | PG Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA and Isabelle Stogsdill Isabelle Stogsdill 6'0" | PF Kentwood | 2024 State WA -6’0 (2024)
Stogsdill was yet another “long and athletic” player who played the passing lane and blocked shots yet watching her blow by defenders from the wing, with either, and finish strongly was more than solid
2 Rivers
Tenice Waters and Danea Norman set it off all tournament and were mentioned on Days 1 and 2 respectively
Shandi Evans (2026)
Evans is a “long and athletic” guard and that works too, especially when she rebounded and handled the ball afterward. Her court vision in transition as well as in the set was nice, and so was her scoring off the dribble and outside. She also did a good job defensively
