GYBC hosted their All American camp last weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina. Athletes came from across the country in the classes of 2027-2032 to show why they should be considered some of the top basketball players in their age groups. Let's take a look at some of the standouts who represented the state (and future) of Ohio well.

Kayla James - 5'5” 2027

James showed off her handles being able to weave in the paint and make the smart dish to her teammate around the perimeter for the shot. She used fakes on her way to get the best look, and she can definitely take the ball all the way herself. She seemed to be involved in many plays whether she was making a cut, pass, or bucket.

[player_tooltip player_id='813145' first='Jayda' last='Johnson'] - 5'9” 2028

Johnson showed off her range shooting the ball getting open around the perimeter. She does a nice job surveying the floor when she gets the ball knowing how to make her move to get to the basket. She had a nice move crossing it over and stepping back for the shot, and this was very difficult for her opponents to defend. She drove on her own kicking it out to a teammate for three points. She was making nice cuts on her own, and she used this IQ on defense being ready to jump in front of passing lanes.

Olivia Loftis - 5'1” 2028

Loftis had a nice shot from deep being ready for the pass around the perimeter and showed off her stroke. Her on ball defense was excellent slowing down one of the best ball handlers at the event making sure she didn't get by her. She slid into the help position well causing an opponent to change directions.

[player_tooltip player_id='975934' first='Kailyn' last='Scott'] - 5'7” 2028

Scott hit a nice transition three being ready for the pass getting back on offense. She didn't hesitate taking her shot when contact was coming up on her, and she made it count from the free throw line. She was tough in the paint, too, flashing in there getting the pass and protecting the possession from people reaching in to try to grab it. She crashed the boards getting rebounds on both ends of the court.

Allyson Fisher - 5'7” 2028

Fisher did a nice job getting to the basket showing off a nice reverse layup after she made a cut on the baseline. She has a nice stroke from around the perimeter, too, showing her versatility on offense. She anticipated passes jumping in front and deflecting them away from her opponents.
