There were Point Guards with talented handles, Shooting Guards who looked like they have been playin varsity for years now, Forwards that were flying down the floor with elite pace, and Centers that were dominating the paint with their mixture of coordination + footwork.
Below I am going to highlight five shooting guards, in no particular order, that displayed their skill to the best of their ability on Sunday.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Ashlee Baker Ashlee Baker 5’9″ | SG Franklin Central | 2027 State IN displayed that she was one of the best overall players there on Sunday competing. Baker is a shooting guard with good size. She keeps all her movements fundamental and efficient, usually beating her defender in anyway she deems fit in that moment. Not to mention, that she communicates very well for her age. She is the type of player that is always communicating and trying to help out the teammates around her on defense. Baker has a promising future ahead of herself on the basketball court. If she stays dedicated and works on the right things, she is going to kill it throughout her high school career.

Havana Thompson
Havana Thompson
Havana Thompson is an interesting prospect to me. A player that possesses good size for her age, moves really well on the floor. She is a guard that can catch and let it fly from deep or she can catch and put it on the ground, beating her defender off of the dribble. Not to mention, she possesses a fundamental shooting stroke every time she lets it go. Another notable ability Thompson has is how well she passes the ball. She is very good at leading her teammates with passes coming down the floor and knowing where they are going to be, before they get there themselves. Thompson is like I said, an interest prospect. What she could become over the next few years, who knows. For now, she just needs to keep up the hard work and it’ll keep paying off.
Emily Robison
Emily Robison
Emily Robison was someone who stood out to me right away on Sunday at this Showcase. Robison is a guard who can handle and bring the ball down the floor or play the off-guard position, depending on what her team needs from her. Though she can handle, I would describe Robison a natural shooting guard. A player that displays a silky-smooth handle into her pull-up jump shot on several occasions throughout a contest. Robison’s game will translate to the high school floor and eventually, if she keeps it up, the college floor. To what level? I’m not sure yet but from what I saw Sunday, the sky is the limit.
Elliot Leffler Elliot Leffler 5’9″ | SG Roncalli | 2027 State IN has a different type of game on the court. She displays balanced and coordinated shot form, no matter where she shoots it from but her side-to-side movement is what separates her from others in my opinion. The way that she can catch and handle the ball is very unique. She always gets her entire body into every dribble move she performs, while being very good at selling what she is going to do to her opponent next, then hitting them with a counter-move out of no where. In multiple games, Leffler was mixing up her defenders and getting off any shot she wanted. With some physically growth over the next few years and some more experience, Leffler could turn out to be one heck of a player at the end of the day.

Eva Scarbeary
Eva Scarbeary
Eva Scarbeary was a catch and shoot killer on Sunday. A player that was ready at all times to let it go from deep whenever the opportunity would present itself. Scarbeary displays a fundamental, coordinated, and balanced shot every time she shoots. No matter if she is coming with great speed off of a screen or at a stand-still, it always looks like it’s going to be good. Scarbeary stands at a solid height of 5’8 with some athletic ability mixed in, with her skill added to all of this, she has some promise looking forward but we will just have to wait and see what happens. Dedication and hard-work can take you a long ways.
